I had EC last week and since then have grown 5 lovely cysts - 3 on my left and 2 on my right. They are doing a fantastic job of pushing on my ovaries and my endometriomas, and just making me very uncomfortable.
I had a ruptured cyst last year and don’t fancy going through that agonising pain again. My clinic told me these should resolve by themselves in 1-2 months. Has anyone any experience of anything that can be done to help them be reabsorbed? Aside from the fear of that pain again, I’m also looking to do my FET and don’t want these in the way.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I have 3 functional cysts on my left which range between 1-2cm, and the two on my right are 2cm and 2.3cm. I also have endometriomas on my ovaries - the left has three with the biggest being 4cm, and the right has three with two of the largest being between 5-6cm each.
I’m wondering if serrapepptase will help get rid of these. I will look into it.
I have 2 endometriomas also. They told me, both endometriomas are small around 2cm. Just been to my clinic today, the cyst measured 7cm. Within 2 days it has grown 1.5cm. I’m getting really worried. How big was your cyst when it burst? My clinic has done CA125 blood test to determine what kind of cyst I got.
I have no idea how big it was. My first IVF clinic wasn’t the best at managing aftercare. I actually only went to A&E as I was worried that level of pain was my ovary twisting. Thankfully it wasn’t and that’s where they said it’s likely a burst cyst. I would say as soon as you feel the pain notch up levels go to A&E.
Maybe acupuncture would help? I’m have no idea if it will but I you could contact someone near you. I’ve been seeing an acupuncturist for my current cycle and she’s had me doing castor oil packs as well and I have an abdominal massage booked for Tuesday. Something like this may help. My acupuncturist is a fertility specialist. I’m in Manchester, so if you’re near by I can send over her details.
Thanks for the replies everyone. The pain I was really hoping to avoid happened at lunchtime today. I was sick, in severe pain & couldn’t move. But 1.5-2 hours later I was fine 🤷🏻♀️ I’ve no idea what happened. Has my cyst burst? Was it something else? I’m waiting for my IVF clinic to get back to me. I feel too fine now to go to A&E but want to avoid that pain again.
Honestly it wasn't long I don't quite remember but I didn't take it for a month.
Hi!
I am having frozen IVF with donor eggs and before going for transfer I was scanned and it was found that I had 3 functional cysts on my left ovary and one which had recently burst. The largest was 5.5cm, the smallest 2.5cm. I was told that they can come and go with your natural cycle but we had to abandon that cycle of frozen IVF treatment.
I did a lot of research and found sugar, caffeine and alcohol all exaberate cyst so cut out all three. I also started taking apple cider vinegar.
The following month, my cysts had over halved....It could be my cycle naturally absorbing them or my new diet....
It was enough for me to have a frozen IVF cycle, which sadly didn't work.....
My thoughts were that this diet costs very little (a bottle of apple cider vinegar) and has many health benefits and no disadvantages so was worth a go!
Just an update - it wasn’t my cysts causing the pain. I have a huge infection from my egg collection and was hospitalised on Monday. I’ve had a fever ever since. They are trying to avoid operating on me due to the endo but if these new antibiotics don’t show that they’re working by tomorrow, they’ll have to in order to avoid it spreading.
This clearly pushes my FET out but worse still, could mean I lose an ovary.
My endo consultant is out of the country so my ovaries are at the mercy of my small town hospital 🤷🏻♀️.
