5 day update - gutted

yesterday we got told our 2 (out of 3) embryos where looking great.

1 graded a 1, the other graded a 2.

Today, day 5, they were going to biopsy for PGS-A, but the embryologist feels they are too small & want to see how they are tomorrow (day 6).

I just don’t know what to think.

If they aren’t strong by day 5 will they past testing? If they aren’t big enough to test would they be viable at all?

I hate this process. It’s so unfair & difficult 🥹

I’m so sorry you are worried I’m assuming it’s a freeze all cycle for the testing so no chance of just putting them back to see how they do? If so then yeah they need to be good enough for freezing so they can do the testing. We had 2 that they wanted to keep to day 6 before to check and on day 6 they were good enough to be frozen so hoping for the same for you today 💜 xx

I think they would have been ok to freeze but they wanted them bigger for the biopsy.

I’m just so gutted as they seemed to be so promising. I just hope they grew well over night & todays update is positive.

I’ve been googling DE processes this morning although not convinced my husband would go for it. We already have a little girl. I just soooo want a sibling for her (we are olde parents & can’t think of the fact of her going though her life on her own)…

I know that sounds selfish as some people would give anything for just 1. She was our 2nd cycle, we have had 3 more since trying to extend our family. I’m 41 (nearly 42). I had our daughter 2 weeks before my 40th.

aww I see well that’s good that they were already good enough for freezing- if they dont get big enough for biopsy but good enough to freeze can you still do that and just transfer untested? As a worst case scenario obviously they will hopefully be fine to be tested Xx
