Went in for my egg collection this morning, came out after being sedated, had something to and drink. Then the doc came in to tell me no eggs as it appears I ovulated the day/night before. Told us to go have sex and maybe you can catch them! And that's the end of that ☹️
Wondering if anyone else has had this before and ovulated before the egg collection? Annoyingly doc second line was you need to go the donor route! You haven't even collected my eggs and you're telling me donor
I'm annoyed with all the scans and blood tests and the timing was wrong. I got a double trigger...could that be the factor affecting my ovulation?
We will have a debrief with consultant what do I ask him or what do I push for? I know donor eggs is going to come up but you haven't actually tried with mine yet properly

I have no answers but this must have been devastating for you, ask so so many questions to gain some understanding. I hope you’re ok ❤️ x
I am so sorry to read this you must be gutted, my immediate instinct (and it's not a medical opinion as I am definitely not qualified) is that they didn't get the dose of your drugs right to stop you ovulating.. I have read it happen to other people on here but its not that common and if you were on Fyremadel or similar that should have stopped it happening.. I don't see it has anything to do with egg quality/age whatsoever so suggesting donor eggs seems ludicrous in my non qualified opinion! x
Yeah I've been on Fyremadel since I started the stimulation drugs but they only check the LH on Saturday when they checked my bloods before the trigger. I don't feel like they've given my eggs a chance
I ovulated two of my follicles on one of my egg collections. They had increased my Fyrmadel to stop it but I guess my body took over and decided it would not wait! Were your clinic monitoring your LH via blood tests? I think it is premature to suggest donor eggs when they haven't completed a full cycle with your eggs yet so there is no way to know how it would have turned out x
Ps I've also had a cycle with no eggs collected and know it can be really deflating and upsetting, I would advise booking in for your follow up ASAP so you can address your questions
They monitored by Oestradiol E2 but only did the LH (5.2units/L), FSH (31units/L) and Progesterone (5pmol/L) on the day of the trigger. Actually I've had a look at the Oestradiol and that took a dip on the last 2 days before trigger on Saturday, it went from 1500 to 1200 pmol/L. Thinking that was telling them that something wasn't right about the 2 eggs?
I will get in touch with them - just gathering my questions for him. They've email me today to give refund for the failed egg collection - its a fifth of the cost of ICSI. Nothing about meeting with consultant
My cycle was cancelled before my trigger. I went in for bloodwork and ultrasound, 4 of my follicles were gone and my LH spiked. (After 3 days). My doctor cancelled and told me that it was probably a bad batch of eggs. I was so sad! I blamed myself for it. But our bodies are strong and they do what they want. Maybe you need a different protocol, that's what they offered me.
What protocol were you on? I was on a short antagonist protocol and they told be all the labs and images looked good. In hindsight, they are taking blood so why not check for all the relevant hormones not just the Oestradiol ? They couldn't see if I had LH peak cause they only tested that once. Wonder what other clinics test for
