Anyone else started the short antagonist IVF/ICSI cycle this week? Would love to have a friend on the same or similar journey.
After long wait and several hurdles we're on the cycle. Strange feeling after doc said I could start (was half expecting them to say no).
Started taking gonal-f and menopur this evening.... Took me a few goes at injection myself (my sister had to help me). Hubby not so good with needles, really wanted him to be part of it - he is the best and so support just not with needles. Going to have to it myself tomorrow 😬.

hello! I will be starting my stims any day soon. Just waiting for my period to start. I am also doing short cycle. This is my second time doing ICSI. How about you?
Hopefully your period has come or will be with you soon 🤞 this is my first time actually starting IVF/ICSI, after a delay back in September and not having rubella antibodies.
Third time injecting myself all over and done in a few minutes...so hopefully in the swing.
Hey! Do u mean from the stims? I never had any side effects whatsoever from the third and final round( antagonist round). Literally felt completely normal. Only took the drugs for a week and was ready for collection. My first round tho was longer and by lunchtime I’d be feeling a bit dizzy xx
hey, I’m on day 4 of stims for ICSI. I’m on a long protocol though. I’m feeling tons of side effects this time weirdly (bloating, blurry vision, dizziness etc) but telling myself that’s a good sign! My next scan is Tuesday to see how I’m responding, hope you’re feeling ok and this round goes really well x
Sorry to hear your having side effects. In your position think I'd be telling myself the same. Guess no one knows until we jump the various hurdles. Yeah I'm also on day 4 with a scan on Tuesday. What cocktail do they have you on? I'm on nightly 150 menopur, 300 gonal-f and the last 2 mornings 250 ganirelix. To be honest I have no idea why those concentration, I find the chemistry/biology a little confusing (and I'm a scientist who actually wanted to go into genetic counseling) Wishing you every success Imno 🤗🐣
thanks, I’m just on 300 menopur every morning (alongside .5 buserulin). My clinic seems pretty limited in terms of what they offer for some reason. Wishing you all the best too!
hey, I had another scan this morning and it’s taking a while to respond. I have another scan on Monday and hopefully egg collection towards the end of next week. I’ve been working too much and am exhausted so trying to take some time to rest over the weekend to bring my stress levels down. How are you doing?
Sounds good that they are talking about egg collection so you must be responding. I think I'm good, had scan this morning 1 follicle is bigger than the other so going back tomorrow to decide on egg collection early next week. I'm off rest of today but think I'm going to take another few days off to limit the stress although I don't feel stressed. Just need to work out how to relax 🙄
Take care and sending you relaxing, stress-free vibes
Update. Day 9 of stims. Just had scan 1 follicle is ready and the other is below the threshold. Going in for another scan tomorrow to give little 1 a chance to catch up and then trigger/egg collection on Monday/Tuesday.
Is there anything I can do to get the little one bigger in next few days?
