Hello I am new to this site and wondered if anyone was in the same position as me.

I started my injections for my first round of IVF this week and I am finding it more painful and emotional than expected.

Hi,

I am due to start my second round of ICSI next week when I start down reg injections. I am on long protocol and now have much more of an understanding of the process. The 1st one was through the NHS and they didn't always explain everything properly and all the appointments felt very rushed. I am now self funding with a private fertility centre. They have explained everything more more in depth, so I have a clear understanding of what is now needed. The NHS hospital was very lax and didnt always give me all options available. I would just say make sure you ask all the questions possible and make sure the explain everything in detail. If you have any questions, however silly, please don't hesitate to ask. I am now going through Care Fertility and they explained all my results in detail and tae me different in depth advice about what foods to eat, what vitamins to take etc. Its a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, but I found that the 2 week wait was the rollercoaster for me. I didn't mind the daily injections, egg collection and the side effects, but everyone is different. Wishing you well, just try and be positive throughout the process, so you are not under any stress, it will make this process easier for you

Good Luck xx

Hello thank you all for the lovely messages and advice. You are right its the unknown on the first time. We tried using ice on the thigh for the first time today and it helped ease the injection. I can't fault the center we are using the staff have been fantastic thankfully.

6 injections down and 29 to go. (not that we are counting)

Hope it goes well for all of you too.

I am looking for a clinic at the moment for the second ivf round as my previous experience didn't work out. not in the treatment currently but know what it is. when on stimulation for me it was always like that, I was nervous and emotional and never calm. hah
