I had my second FET today (first ended in chemical) and whilst it didn’t take long, they had to swap catheters from a soft to a firmer one to get a clear path in as they struggled with the softer one. Has anyone had this happen before? I know google isn’t helpful but I naturally have been using it and some articles suggest firmer catheters aren’t as good for outcomes.

Of course you do , we had one that got stuck in the catheter once ! Major panic spiral but that was our first ever bfp it didnt manage a happy ending but that wasnt anything to do with the transfer xxx
Hi purplepanda. This often happens, but should any query relating to a transfer happens e,g, retro versed uterus, best to have a dummy/trial run first so they know for sure which catheter to use. I am sure all will have gone ok. Diane
thanks for the advice Diane, much appreciated. I think because the first time I had it a soft catheter worked fine, perhaps they weren’t expecting it this time
I had this happen on my first transfer (I had 3 more after this) so for every subsequent transfer I told them what had happened and they just automatically used the harder catheter to save messing around. They said it was really common but it threw me when it happened as well x
