Hey guys, so I got 1 embryo successfully transferred today, feeling happy and keeping our fingers crossed. Unfortunately they dont think we have any suitable for freezing but will confirm tomorrow but I am just concentrating on the 1 that is in, let the 2 week wait commence. Does anybody know if it is ok to use a hot water bottle? I ve been sitting with one since I came in and then realised I shouldn't I dont tbink so have moved it away, does anyone know for sure? Xxx

Congrats on the transfer. Best of luck for the 2WW. I think you're supposed to keep warm, but not get too hot; however unless you were overheating your stomach area, I wouldn't worry. And if you've only just transferred today I really wouldn't worry as it's unlikely it would have implanted just yet! Myself - I wouldn't do it from now on, though, just for peace of mind. I wouldn't want that added worry even if it's not actually something that makes a difference. Although, then, I am a worrier! I worry that I lifted a side table or got stressed at work or all sorts of things that probably actually have no impact and the pregnancy will or will not progress of its own accord.

Let me clarify - I would still use a hot water bottle! I'm a coldie. I would just avoid having it directly on my stomach unless it was just warm.

Congratulations on your transfer! Looks like we are 2ww buddies. What date is your OTD? I was advised previously by a nurse not to use a hot water bottle directly on tummy after transfer stage, as it’s important not to overheat the uterus. But then no one mentioned it today in the long list of things not to do! So perhaps if you use one just make sure it’s warm but not too hot xx

Thank you, yes we are definitely 2ww buddies. My date is the 19th feb, what about u? I am just not going to use a hot water bottle, to be fair, I only had 1 today and I feel asleep with it on my face so wssnt near my uterus so hoping that's ok. What other things were u told not to do? I wasnf told anything, just to rest and take it easy. Sending Lots of luck to you too xx

Thank you. Our OTD is 18th (home test as our clinic don’t do bloods). They mentioned just following pregnancy diet stuff (no alcohol, pate, raw eggs etc, limited caffeine - a list on nhs website). Avoiding heavy lifting, strenuous exercise, very warm baths (warm ones ok) and long haul flights if possible. Keeping well hydrated xxx

My test day is the 19th as well! Feels like an age away!! And the only thing they told me not to do was have sex for a few days lol. As if that would be something I’d think of doing during the 2ww 😂

Good luck! Will be looking out for a happy update xx

In terms of the hot water bottle, I don’t think you should use one but honestly don’t fret about having had one for a bit today, it will be fine xx

Hey Cheeky

I also love hot water bottles. I was told to soak my feet in hot water to warm up and try get your circulation better by doing gentle exercise and acupuncture. I sit with my feet on a hot water bottle whilst working and in bed pop your feet on it to warm up- don’t want our tummies too hot. Good luck!

Good luck and congrats on the transfer. I also get really cold but have been wearing 2 pairs of socks (everywhere, including in bed!) as it’s imp to keep feet warm and keep good circulation. I also wear a hat in this weather whenever I go out as you lose so much heat through your head! I wouldn’t have a hot water bottle at all on your tummy just in case. If you’re really chilly, I would put some more clothes on or sit with a blanket. It’s imp not to overheat the uterus. Don’t worry at all about what you have done so far though. It’s only a day and I’m sure won’t have made a difference. Good luck xx
