Fever during 2ww

I am currently on the 2ww after FET (test day is Thursday) and this morning I woke up with a fever of 38.5 degrees. I am awaiting to hear back from my hospital whether it is safe to take paracetamol, but I was wondering whether someone had a similar experience? I am really worried that this is going to ruin my transfer as this was my last frostie. Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

Hello! Can't advise on having a fever but paracetamol is completely safe to take during the TWW and pregnancy as long as you stick to the recommended daily amount.

I've been taking it throughout my TWW for cramps and my Endometriosis / Adenomyosis pain.

Here is a link to search for medicines in pregnancy

Avoid NSAIDS such as Ibuprofen and Aspirin.

Drink plenty of fluids and don't wrap up even if you feel cold, to help bring your temperature down. Lots of people will have caught colds / flu like virus's in early pregnancy and all will have been fine so try not to worry too much.

Wishing you lots of luck and hope you feel better soon.

Hi cacje_cache. So sorry to hear that you are poorly. It is safe to take paracetamol regularly, with no more than 8 in 24 hours. No anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Make sure that you don't take cold remedies that contain paracetamol etc as well the plain tablets. Plenty of fluids to drink. Hope you feel better soon. Diane

I had a fever after every transfer - 3 in total - and with the 3rd I ended up taking an antihistamine which helped. I had feared it was my body reacting to the embryo as if it was a foreign body. We got pregnant the 3rd time but I have no idea if my instinct was correct or not I'm afraid. What I also found and still do is its sent my body temperature out of whack.. I'm always cold since being pregnant which isn't like me at all.. Normally I'm always too hot 🤷🏼‍♀️😅

Good luck!!! 🤞🏻🍀👶🏼

Hey Poppy, thanks for sharing and congratulations on your pregnancy. I had no idea that all these hormones can messing up the body temperature.

I also got a cold after my fresh transfer. A lot of coughing and sneezing, as well as a runny nose. I had some fever, but not high. Took some paracetamol (not much). I thought the transfer will not be successful, but we were lucky (1st transfer). From what I read, the immune system is lower than usual, to allow implantation (of a "foreign body"). Good luck!

Thanks, Mary! I am on a mend now so I hope the cold didn’t affect the transfer. Wishing an easy pregnancy XX
