I had my 1st frozen embryo transfer yesterday afternoon (basically 24hrs ago). It went well, though I did get a little internal ‘poke’ from the catheter just before my 5 day embaby went in which was a bit sore! But I came away happy so all good.
I’ve been having a few very mild cramps and bloating since which I totally expected afterwards but a couple of hours ago my bloat has gone crazy big and I’m getting a sharp stabbing pain (like a stitch) in my right ovary side. It’s quite uncomfortable and sore feeling especially when sitting and walking (so am now laying down). Admittedly I have gone back to work today (from home) so have been sitting at a desk which maybe my body wasn’t ready for but am obviously freaking out a bit as I didn’t think it would be this sore/painful 24hrs after.
If it’s still bad tomorrow morning I will call my clinic, not sure if they will be able to do anything as it’s in now but just for peace of mind.
Thought I’d jump on here in case anyone felt the same. It almost feels like OHSS when I went to have my fresh transfer (which I cancelled as my OHSS was so so bad) but I know it’s not that as this is a FET (and it was all natural until I started Cyclogest 6 days ago)
Any advice would be really really appreciated. It’s a bit scary when it’s sharp pain, mild cramps I can take but that stitch feeling is wigging me out😔

I’d definitely ring the clinic. They’d be best placed to judge, and personally I wouldn’t wait till tomorrow if you are at all concerned.
Weirdly it feels better after lying down for a few hours. The massive bloat is there but the sharp stitch pain has gone. I feel like I just sat all crumpled up at my desk for too long today, transfer might be simple but it still is invasive. I think I just forgot that. Will call my clinic if it does return though
I am sorry to hear you are in pain. I had OHSS and cancelled fresh transfer due to that too. Our consultant told us that there is no risk of OHSS with a frozen transfer. I hope you feel better soon!
Yeah OHSS is nasty, that's why it reminded me a little of it! Anyways it seems to have gone now, think I just pushed myself a little too hard yesterday at work, silly!! Luckily only doing a couple of hours today before the Christmas break!
I had mild OHSS after a transfer took a few weeks for bloating and pain to go. All you can do really is drink lots and lots of water, you'll pee a lot but it will help. Definitely ring your clinc as soon as you can for advice. Hope you feel better soon x
Hey! Ah sorry to hear that it's nasty isn't it. Was that for a fresh transfer though? I had frozen so always was told I couldn't get it (again) for a frozen transfer! x
Any pain post transfer is super stressful hey. Just wanted to jump on and add that both times I’ve been pregnant, i had a sharpish stitch in my ovary around implantation. It can also be things like progesterone wreaking havoc but try not to stress as it can also be a positive thing. Obvs if it’s really uncomfortable and persistent then further follow up is good. Good luck 🤞 x
Thanks Susie! That's useful to know. I'm not sure I'm at implantation stage yet but you never know. Progesterone is very sneaky and can deffo cause issues so i'm sure it's that. Thanks for responding x
