Bleeding 6dp5dt

Hi all,

My self and the OH are on our first ivf cycle and had a successful transfer 8 days ago now

On day 6 after transfer I started to brown/red bleed and by the evening turned to bright red. Not had any pain to be honest barring the odd twinge but my nurse told me that was normal and to carry on with pessaries. I am on blood thinning injections too as I had mild risk of OHSS. obviously we are worried as we don’t test for another 5 days.

I still have bloating and sore boobs but I don’t know if that’s just meds. I’ve read soooo many forums about women bleed and get a positive. Today the bleeding is hardly nothing, it’s only when I wipe and a tiny amount in my pad so it’s all very confusing for us both right now.

I don’t wish this on anyone to go through but we all are desperate for the same thing and I feel for everyone.

Can anyone relate? Xx

Hi Hun I'm sorry that you have had some bleeding. It's not always a bad sign some ladies have healthy pregnancies with bleeding. I know it's hard but try not to worry and just rest up a bit. I hope the next few days pass quickly for you and that the bleeding stops. Hugs xx

Thanks very much!

I hope it’s nothing but it’s hard to focus when there’s Abit of bleed still there.

Did you have the same? Xx

I personally didn't have any bleeding. But I know others have experienced the same thing. Try to keep your mind busy the next few days xx

Thanks so much xx

Could be two things - or both. Firstly could be irritation due to the progesterone pessaries - loads of people get that. Secondly it could be implantation bleeding. You would get that for a short period of time. Others have unexplained and still go on to have successful pregnancies.

Wishing you all the best with your wait, testing and beyond. Xxx

Thank you!

My OH is concerned it might have something to do with the blood thinning injections but I’m unsure.

Thank you for your wishes! Xx

If it's any help, as you are having pessaries there should be no "period" bleeding. Also, if it was due to the thinners then surely you would still be bleeding at the same level. Your clinic know best - if you are still concerned I would call them. But please try not to worry xxx

Thank you! I have pecked their heads a few times already but they have just said to monitor it and keep doing what I’m doing. Xx

Hi Stephj,

don't give up too early.... i was bleeding since 5dp5dt - lightly, heavily, brown, red, light red, fresh blood with clots (like period)........ I gave up, but anyway i did the beta (11dp5dt) - it was positive! (i also did the hpt, the line was faint but...)

However, today on the monitor, I saw a little worrior who's growing...... ❤️ (6w0d)

Today I was almost without blood - but my doctor said i'm probably bleeding because of all these hormones during ivf procedure... (and of course because of pregnancy hormones 😉)

However, i really know it's scary - it really is buuut... the bleeding during pregnancy doesn't always mean the worst has happened......

Try to stay positive (the lovely ladies here, helped me a lot!!!! - and they're still help me ❤️)

Good luck 🍀🍀🍀

Thanks Jane! Really helps having a read of other people’s experiences, I know every one is different but it does give me that hope still for Monday that it’s not over!

Congratulations to you! 🤗 I’m glad everything is looking good and it’s settling in for the ride! ❤️

I’m having time off work this week to relax and unwind from the stresses of everyday life. I will keep trying to stay positive xx

Hi I had bleeding from day before otd and got a bfp. I had brown spotting and a few clots but everything was fine on the viability scan. They just said it was the lining being slightly irritated. I'm currently 10 plus 2 xx

Thanks very much. Did you experience pain? I’ve not had any really so I’m hoping for the best xx

Only a bit of cramping after transfer, some lower back ache and I did have a sudden sharp pain with one of my clots but it was over as quick as it came then never had anything else

The pessaries cause lower back ache. Good luck, hope you get your bfp xx
