BFP but not feeling it...

I know there's lots of posts on here about not actually feeling pregnant in the early stages and lack of symptoms.. but has anyone ever actually been emotionally numb at this point?

I'm 13dp5dt, getting BFP since day 9. Slightly sore boobs on and off, I'm usually pretty wild with my temper around this stage but I'm super super calm. Not even crying at the Christmas ads on TV which is highly unlike me normally! DH keeps looking at me like I'm ready to blow up with my mood but I just laugh at him!

Could this be the IVF drugs keeping you from having the normal surge of pregnancy hormones? Or should I be prepping for another MC?

beta planned for Fri that might help but I'm still in limbo atm

I think it’s probably your subconscious trying to protect you. By my third cycle I was quite numb too, because of all the heartache we’d already been through, and if I never believed it would work then I wouldn’t get as upset when it failed.

You really can’t trust any symptoms you’re having at this point because you’ll be so hyper aware of everything and there’s lots of things that could cause them.

If you haven’t seen a fertility counsellor it’s really worth doing. I had a couple of calls and found it helpful with my perspective and learning to see what was happening now rather than always worrying and preempting something bad. There’s nothing to indicate anything bad is happening and nothing you can do to change things, you’re doing everything right. At this moment in time, you’ve got a BFP and that’s all that matters ❤️

Thank you, and you're right there's not much we can do but the symptoms dont help. We got to this stage last time only for it to be a mc around 6 weeks so naturally I'm apprehensive x

congratulations I didn’t ‘settle’ or believe my pregnancy was actually happening until about the 3rd trimester! I think IVF makes us a bit cautious and numb but sounds like all going well for you so I will get excited for you 🤗💜 xx

I'm feeling the same as you and in the same situation. MC at almost 7 weeks last time and am now 5wks2days and feeling so worried all the time. I'm trying to look at it as what will happen will happen so I should try and enjoy the fact I'm pregnant. Easier said than done though x

Have you done a beta at all to help you relax? x

Booked myself one for OTD that came back 1300, which is a lot better than I've had before.. going again Wed to see if the numbers are doing what they should. My clinic don't routinely offer them but they are available if you ask.
