I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and unsure where to start researching donor treatment abroad, cost is a factor but I leaning toward Spain as my other half has family there (Madrid) which might make it easier?
What does the process of donor egg treatment abroad look like in term of time frames, number of visits to the clinic etc? And how do people go about selecting a clinic? I start googleing and get overwhemled with ads. I hate how comericallised the whole private IVF process can be and I feel like so many places want to get a slice of our pain to make money (sorry I'm ranting!)

hello I am on the donor journey. I started by picking an area that was easy to get to from where we stay so went for Spain. Then I picked a city and a couple of clinics. I went accross for one week and visited the clinics I’d chosen. One just felt perfect.
It took 3 months to find a match. Then I got my period and started the medication. We flew accross and stayed for a month (you don’t have to do this but I wanted transfer tests and everything to be in one place) then flew home after otd xxx
We did donor treatment in Czech Republic. We contacted the clinic and had an online consultation. They matched us with a donor then I took medication to sync my cycle with hers. We went over for the donor's egg collection and my partner did his sperm sample the same day. We stayed until day 5 and did a fresh transfer.
I highly recommend joining a Facebook group for the clinic you choose (if there is one). I joined one set up by a mum with children from the clinic and it was so helpful.
There are agencies that will do the communication for you but they can be a bit hit or miss and not strictly necessary if you can chat to others who have used the clinic.
My inbox is open if you have questions. It can feel quite daunting at first but it actually quite straightforward.
