Hello, I had 3 rounds of failed IVF, took a two year break to recover - both physically and mentally... and also financially. I have now taken the step to do a donor egg IVF. If anyone is on the same journey and wouldn't mind trading notes and support , I would appreciate having a companion in this . Please feel free to DM me. Wishing you all the best..
Donor egg journey : Hello, I had... - Fertility Network UK
Donor egg journey
hi Lisa, I have been down a similar journey to you and made the decision to use donor eggs. I felt quite lost and there were masses of options… my little donor egg is 4 in January and I would be more than happy to chat to you. You’re at the start of a new chapter x
hi lisa,
Ah, you’re a warrior. It’s so bloomin hard.
After 5 ivf cycles, 1 resulting in a mm we are also doing donor eggs.
I’m finding it such a lonely journey so would love to chat and share stores with you or anyone else going though this.
We started our first round here in the uk recently but it was cancelled at last minute so now will start again in January hopeflly. We’ve just picked our eggs. I’m so scared, excited but also don’t know how hopeful to be!
Please let me know if you want to chat, we can be in this together.
I wish you all the best and please stay strong x
Dont feel lonely, you are not alone here.
Also did you check with your clinic if you can have an ERA test? It helps with implantation
it is super exciting that you’ve picked your eggs!!
thank you. I do feel very lonely though In all of this.
My clinic said they didn’t think I needed the ERA as they think it’s more my eggs (I’m now 44) I’m hoping we get to transfer this time with my donor eggs as didn’t first time round due to an issue with the thaw.
We’re going to use donor eggs in the new year after 2 very expensive failed rounds using my own eggs. We’re planning to use a clinic abroad.
Hi,
After few failed ivf and tired of soooo many injections, I am on that journey now. I have to say, I feel kind of relief, and happy for the decision.
The experience so far has been great, we are doing it in abroad as there is no waiting list , easy to travel and to get there.
The most important on all this is your mental preparation and positivity. Every person has a different journey, but at the end is about making your dream come true
Watch in YouTube “egg whisperer” it’s very informative, the lady is a fertility doctor from Harvard.

Hi Lisa, i am 42 (43 next month) and have made the decision to go with DE treatment. Like you, I have taken time out since my failed IVF treatment - I felt going through it I was ok..as ok as I could be. There was a structure to it and an ‘end goal’. Unfortunately I have low ovarian reserve and IVF was unsuccessful. I really struggled with the period after failed treatment..didn’t know what to do with myself and lost myself in overthinking and profound loss of purpose almost. So here I am almost 2 years later and going forward with DE treatment. I’ve spent months searching for clinics abroad, it’s really overwhelming as all the clinics look great!! We have narrowed it down to a clinic in Alicante and will be reaching out to them this weekend to plan our first consultation. Having spoken to the clinic, it seems treatment can start as early as 6 weeks time! I’m ready for this .. and determined! Would be lovely to have your company, it can all feel so isolating. Feel free to DM me x
