hi, today I tested positive for covid, same day as I am meant to start my meds in preparation for a FET 😢 I figured based on history, in 25 days when it’s time for transfer, I should be completely better? I don’t want to take any risks as this is my last embryo but I do feel fine even now. Anyone had covid few weeks before transfer and was successful? X

Covid before transfer
Hi Gerti, really interested in hearing comments and experiences. I’m at same stage as you and took COVID a few weeks ago. Did you tell your clinic?
hi, No, I haven’t had a chance yet to contact them yet. Have you spoken to your clinic?
no I haven’t…to be honest I’m afraid too.
My period has come early than expected, I’m on HRT so they could schedule transfer, my period was to arrive between 7-11 Nov but it started last Wed, I told the clinic and they asked me to start my meds earlier, today was first day, prognova. I never told them I had COVID but now wondering was it COVID that’s messed up my cycle. I wasn’t ill but lost my taste and smell for 2 weeks
Hi Gerti. Hopefully you will be fine. We do have lots of information about Covid on the website. fertilitynetworkuk.org/covid Diane
Sorry yo hear Covid has interrupted your plans. I had the same issue after waiting 6 months for my last transfer - there is evidence that waiting has better outcomes in this study pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/355... I waited 1 month to do my transfer (which failed). I think given the heightened immune response the body has in fighting covid it probably is best to wait. The waiting is incredibly hard though - I had my 8th and final transfer postponed this month because I ovulated too early. Hope you feel better soon!
Hi Gerti, sorry to hear you are in this position right now. My husband and I had Covid more than a week before my transfer date. I had the transfer literally 2 days after I went out of isolation. We were brave to take the risk but I was confident enough considering I was put on antibiotics and steroids as part of my meds in preparation for FET. Now, I couldn’t say I wasn’t worried afterwards; the worry continues. I am now 31 weeks pregnant with twins.
I’m actually kept in the hospital now. We just had the scan earlier then they found out one of the placentas is a bit under pressure and my bp was raised as well so the consultant decided to keep me in. They might deliver the babies anytime this week. I have history of hypertension and I just turned 49 years old. 🥴😛😅
