IVF grants or funding?

Hi there! I am wondering if anyone has any advice regarding funding for IVF? The costs are unaffordable so I have looked into possible grants. Here is a great source listing free funding for fertility treatment: mamasconnected.com/ivf-grants Have you heard of others that worked? It would be great to start a thread to share with each other! Thanks in advance!

personally what I did was look at our entire finances - one of us giving up work to be a STAHP even if one was on minimum wage was over £1300 a month, full time nursery most likely starts at £1300 a month so we lived like we had a child for 12 months and saved £13k which was enough for 3 rounds.

If we couldn’t afford to do that we questioned how we would manage “for real” as we have no free childcare options from family etc

We ended up with twins though which totally messed up all my financial planning 🤯

wow that’s absolutely great planning! Tbf we were so lucky and got nhs funding for our first baby. Now we have our first baby and one embryo in the freezer and time is against me. It’s the childcare costs we can’t afford and rather than really plan my OH just says we can’t afford it. I wonder if we do the same as you and change our finance management whether we’d be able to manage it. It’s very tricky for me. I’m self employed and while employed I can earn a very good salary part time but if I don’t get work (which is highly possible) it’s pretty much impossible to live on my OH’s salary… certainly impossible for two babies. My OH’s point is that we like our standard of living which has become more expensive in these times. He’s not wrong but maybe we’re not great at budgeting and if we did what you do maybe we’d be in a better position for a second… however, you’re so right about the childcare - I don’t think it would be worth me working with two at nursery just for two days would cost me nearly 2k a month. Even at my fantastic day rate I don’t think it would be much worth working.
