How long does funding take for ivf?

Okay so i was over weight n had to lose some to be able to have funding.. i have now reached my weight goal 😁 n have a appointment on tuesday to be weighed n sign funding forms.. i just wondered how long they take b4 the ivf takes place. Many thanks ladies xx

Ours was almost instantaneous. We had the appt to hand over the paperwork on the Tuesday, we received a letter saying we were being funded for one cycle on the Friday, and the following Friday was the scans, then Saturday we started the injections.

We had quite a wait, about 6 months I think but it didn’t help that my specialist forgot to put the application in straight away! Once he did they told us it normally takes 6-8 weeks for a decision. It actually took 12 xx

One week for the funding approval, then 18 weeks waiting for the first appointment on our NHS IVF clinic, then something between 2 and 6 months to start the actual IVF (not sure, we are still waiting for the first appointments). Hope your clinic is faster (and well done on the weight loss!)

We never got a letter saying we had been approved for funding, just a consultant appointment at the ivf clinic. We kept asking “are you sure we have funding?!” It was less than six weeks in our area between the form going off and the consultant appointment.

Thank you ladies.. im guessing it goes on the area you live in.. im at derby hosptial.. at last appointment he said he wanted to push thew it as i have a low egg count for my age.. but i cudnt without the weight.. so im hopeing he still thinks the same. X
