3BB Embryos in the freezer are they good enough?

I recently had a failed fresh embryo transfer on my first round of IVF with a 3AB and 3BB embryo. We not have two 3BB embryos in the freezer which we are preparing to do a frozen transfer with. I am concerned I should have not left it until 35 to start try and worry now that I have been told I have endometriosis and PCOS this is going to be a bigger issue. I have a good AMH so hopefully that helps our chances and works in our favour. Has anyone had success with a similar storey?

Hi,

This is such a good post for me to read right now! Sorry if that sounds awful but I am exactly the same as you. I have stage 4 endometriosis, kissing ovaries and cysts on my ovaries. I also have endo on my bowel. I’m 34 in 2 weeks time.

Just to give you some hope I got 5 embryos and I had a 5AA transferred which was successful and my son is now 20 months old so please don’t think it’s not possible because it is, however I am in the same boat as you I am hoping to go for my next transfer next month but I’ve hit a bump in the road. I’ve been told I’ve got cyst and a leaking tube that is possibly leaking fluid into my womb. I’m waiting on a call from the clinic to see what the next process is. I only have one tube due to an ectopic before my son. My other concern is my next 2 embryos are my lower quality ones which worries me a little. If my next transfer goes ahead I also will be transferring a 3BB and if that’s not successful I will then be using a 5BC. I am a little sceptical about this as last November we lost a 5AB in the thawing process and the 4AA that we transferred was unsuccessful so I am feeling a little deflated going forward. I know my endo is getting worse as I can just feel it! You know your own body! This really does worry if we will get a sibling. I know I already have one child which I am truly blessed for but it’s so tough no matter what.

Please do not give up hope as I am proof it can happen.

I have heard a lot of success with 3BB, and my specialist said quality doesn’t always matter but it is hard to think positive when the logic is this is graded at the lower end of the scale however, it doesn’t mean that it can’t happen. They only freeze the good embryos.

Always here if you need to chat as I really understand your feelings.

Xxx

Hi Faith, thank you for the long message and really sharing your storey. It helps so much when you read about people in smiler situations! It is so crazy it was only when we started this journey that you hear and learn so much about what peoples paths take when doing IVF, I find it so hard as I just want to google everything. I have hope for us both and I am sure we will get our happy endings.

Hi Boughton. My feelings are that you should have a good chance with your two frozen embryos. Don't know whether you are considering having any treatment on the endometriosis beforehand? Obviously the PCOS can be carefully managed. All I can do is to wish you all the best, and let's hope your remaining embryos are the ones for you. Diane

I know its so easy for me to say but please try not to obsess too much about embryo quality. Its only a snapshot in time and you have no idea what has happened the moment after they graded the embryos.. (and by the way 3BB in my world is good!) I know a load of people (both on here and in 'real life' like my sister) who had failed round after failed round with their 'top quality' embryos and then had their children with their lesser quality embryos. My sister had really terrible endo and used to have to have keyhole surgery to strip cysts before each round. She now has 2 children from IVF. She started aged 37! You can do it xx

They are definitely good enough! Some of mine are 3BB and 3CC, and I'm pretty hopeful! Did you ever get your endometriosis excised surgically? It may be blocking implantation otherwise. It's not always embryo quality that really matters . Best of luck 💕 xx

I was advised the surgery would not make any difference in my success, I still have a cyst and was advised to continue with the IVF

Did your IVF doctor advise you that? To just continue with IVF? I would definitely get some second and third opinions 😱

I would say you need this treated. Even if they don't touch your ovaries, the rest may be doing a lot of damage and could spread further and further. There is a top private endo surgeon in Greece. Or the NHS should see you too.

The ladies with significant endo who had success have mostly had excision surgeries in the past just to be clear.

All the best xx

P.s I also have PCOS and Endo (what an annoying combo!) And just had my surgery after 10 failed embryos age under 30. Fingers crossed I can give a positive update post surgery!

Sorry I edited my post again as I misread your post.
