intralipid infusion - what dosage did you have?

hi all,

Looking for some info on what Intralipids they infused for you? What was the actual medicine and how many mg? I will ask my clinic but trying to figure out whether it is a generic dose like the Prednisolone 25mg/ Dexamethasone 0.5mg or is it individualises dosage of intralipids?

Hi

I've had intralipids a few times now - its not actually a medication so there is no brand name. Think of it more like a vitamin booster that helps supress your immune system/ NK cells. Theres very little scientific research to support the efficacy but when you are desperate for a baby you're willing to try anything - especially when its recommended by the consultant. I think the dosage is a standard one. It takes about 45min in the clinic to be infused through an IV drip.

I had intralipids with my last FET and will have it twice with this FET. Not sure about dosage I can share once I get it again. But the one I took had to be given slowly drop by drop and I stayed in a hospital for 10 hours hooked to the drip. It was fun, I was in a maternity unit and all night I've listened to crying newborn babies 😅🙈

I had an intra-lipid infusion yesterday. It was administered via an intravenous drip and took between an hour and an hour and a half. My paperwork/invoice states "Intralipid intravenous infusion (100ml, 20%) administered". That was my first one of this cycle. It is planned that I will have another one in the two week wait and another one if I get a BFP.
