Can someone let me know is it likely that you would need an intralipid infusion straight after a positive pregnancy test or would it be a few days later after a positive result. The first intralipid having been administered 7 days before frozen embryo transfer. Thanks in advance.

Hey, thanks for your reply. I'm just waiting on my clinic getting back to me to confirm when to have the intralipid. I just wanted a rough idea so that I can organise myself. X
Hi hope you're doing well.Thank you for your reply. Can I just ask did you have your first intralipid a few days before embryo transfer, 7-10 days before?
Seems like most people are having the second intralipid either on OTD or five days from OTD. At least I have a rough idea now. 😀
I had my Intralipid the day after I got a positive on the pregnancy test. I now have a 1 week old baby boy.The month before conceiving him, I got a positive and waited 4 days to have the intralipid, and it ended in a chemical pregnancy. (I also took steroids with the successful pregnancy).
Not sure if the two things were related, but I'd say get in sooner rather than later, just to be on the safe side. Good luck x
Hi thank you for your reply.Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy!! I hope you're doing well. You must be so busy, thanks for taking the time out to reply to my message. You gave me loads of advice and information when I was trying to decide which doctor to go with. In the end I decided to see Dr G. The location was more convenient and he was also allowing me to courier the blood for blood tests so I wouldn't have to go down to London for that. I'm going to take your advice again, will have the intralipid the next day after OTD if it's positive. The sooner the better. Ive got a feeling he's going to tell me to have the IVIG, this time though. I will see what he says at the consultation. Then will probably need to test for the nk cells 7-10 days after the intralipid or IVIG. not sure how it works but he will explain at consultation. I'm not taking steroids although he was fine to prescribe them to me if I was able to self isolate and sign a disclaimer. I refused the steroids in the end as am working. Won't be able to self isolate. He said he has an alternative protocol for this as he wasn't prescribing steroids during covid before. Best of luck with new baby. Enjoy every minute. Take care. X
Wishing you good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I will need to have more than 1 as high nk cells, high TH1/TH2 cytokines and dq alpha match. Thank you for replying and good luck. X
I have high nk killer cells has well. As a matter of fact i have a untreatable autoimmune disease called polyarteritis nodosa that leaves bruises on my lower extremists. But what the doctor did was treat me with steriods before transfer and then give me one intralipid infusion. But as soon as i got the positive i was removed from steriods. Because of this disease I am actually being treated by a rheumatologist, high risk obgyn and a normal obgyn. I actually just did a marker for my disease and they are elevated so i am place back on two types of steriods which was aprove by my doctors. I did a transfer before and it didn't work in 2019 because i didnot do the steriods or the intralipids and my body went in full attack mode with the embryo given me fever for days. So that is why the second transfer they gave steriods leading up to transfer and then one infusion. My doctor was also against me doing two embryos because of the additional stress on my body but because the first one fail they allow me to do two this time around not knowing both would stick. Hence, i have a team of doctors and see a doctor every two weeks instead of the monthly check up.
You've gone through so much. What a tough journey. I hope you stay well for the remainder of your pregnancy. I haven't taken steroids so will probably have to have more infusions. I will just need to wait and see what doctor says at the time. Good luck with everything. X
