Incredibly heavy period following biopsy, just a coincidence?

Hello!

So I had my ERA, ALICE and EMMA Biopsy on 24th August, I stopped my medication on the Friday evening because I needed to make sure I had the Prostap before cycle day one.

So I was spotting following the biopsy and my period arrived on Sunday 28th August, and it has been horrifically heavy. I am passing multiple clots an hour that are longer than my fingers and am only able to wear adult nappies because nothing else is containing it (sorry TMI).

I do suffer from heavy periods occasionally and my lining was 16mm on day 10 so can imagine it thickened even more by the time I come off the hormones.

So basically I just wanted to see if I should just keep riding it out or whether I should mention this to me clinic just incase?

Thanks in advance!

I would definitely contact your clinic just because they are medical professionals. I call mine for all sorts of things and they don’t mind. Not as you describe but my next cycle after my hysteroscopy was much heavier than normal and longer but the hospital warned me it might be. I would imagine any biopsy might do the same but I’m not a medical professional by far!

The lining was really thick and that will result in a heavier than usual bleed but as 1st post says it would be best to let your clinic know the situation .Thinking of you

Hiya I would give the clinic a shout. I had the biopsy in may and i had 5 days of bleeding just like a normal period but then my next period took 70 days to come. No crazy heavy bleeding though xxx

thank you Kittykat198 Boo718 JA-fnuk for your replies. Thankfully it slowed down but I did speak to my consultant about it when he phoned about something else and he wasn't too concerned. He suggested it would have been because my lining was soo thick and although it wasn't pleasant to go through was probably a good thing because it meant my lining would be coming away nicely. Thanks again and sorry for the late reply I did read the comments but with being on the strong painkillers was in and out of sleeping so forgot to reply xxx
