Bleeding a few days after biopsy

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re all doing ok. Did anyone who’s had a biopsy have bleeding a few days later? Mine was on Thursday for NK cells but I imagine the same applies for ERA. I can’t work out if it’s a biopsy related bleed or if the procedure can bring on an early period, something that’s v unusual for me.

Any experience would be really helpful!

Hi Claire, did they have you on progesterone for your test? Xx

Hi lovely. No, I don’t think they do progesterone for the NK cell biopsy. They just timed it so I was 6-9 days after the LH surge.

Ah right of course. Sorry, I did NK tests in with my ERA so my bleed soon after the biopsy was my period brought on early by stopping the progesterone. I'm afraid I don't know then... unless it's a bit of bleeding from the procedure itself? 🤔 I'd give them a ring and just let them know maybe, if you're at all worried xx

No hun I didn’t when I had mine but Dr Brosmans did say that it’s not unusual if you do xx

Thanks Judith! Seems to have settled down today. My clinic told me I’d maybe have some spotting on the day but nothing about a delayed bleed so had a mild panic. Thank you for your reply xx

I think I had some light spotting, yes…. Not a lot, though. Then bleed arrived a few days after (having stopped the progesterone ) x

Indeed! 😊

I’m waiting to start our next fresh cycle , but the ERA / EMMA / ALICE tests proved useful xx

Hello lovely! I have had two biopsies: for ERA, EMMA and ALICE the first time and EMMA and ALICE (again!) the second time. The first time my period came early, just a few days after I stopped taking the progesterone. The second time I wasn't on progesterone and I did have spotting after the biopsy and then some bleeding and then nothing and then my period. My consultant told me it is normal to have some spotting or bleeding after the biopsy. It doesn't happen all the time but it can happen. Good luck! x
