Hi everyone! I'm new here and so glad I found this site
So...
I've had my last egg retrieval on June 5th. 70+ eggs were retrieved. Around 66 were mature. I was shocked (the eggs were for another couple, by the way).
I started my period right after, on June 8th. Normal, heavy, lasted around 5 days.
BUT, since then, nothing more.
I even went back to the clinic yesterday to have an ultrasound and blood work done. Everything was normal. Follicles are there, hormones are good, but not high like when we're about to ovulate.
I was told to just wait. But I am still freaking out. I am usually very regular. I keep thinking that the stress from the lockdown plus getting a new puppy and having this new, huge responsibility might have gotten to my head.
Anyone with similar story?
I just really need to put my mind at ease. I want to start planning on getting pregnant soon.

Wow I have never heard of that many eggs being collected! How are you feeling? I have had a couple of times during the past few years where I remember my period being noticeably late (and that I wasn't pregnant). Once it was missing for like two or so months! I went to the doctors and had tests and things, but the best they could do was say "it's quite common for women to miss a period for no reason; no problem". It hasn't felt common to me! Not reassuring, but not much I could do! I think "women's health" really isn't well-researched or well understood. It did eventually come back, but I still have no understanding of what I did or didn't do. I think a few of the ladies on here had luck with drinking chopped parsley in water to bring on a period. For real. I'm not usually in to old wives' tales, but it actually worked for them! Hope you're doing okay. xxxx
Yes, everything went very smoothly. I was told by the doctors that my body just naturally "produces" more eggs. Got a bit bloated right before retrieval, and some discomfort after, but very easy process.
The problem is that I have never missed periods like that before. Only when I was teenager barely starting my menstrual cycle. Having no period at all since mid June is very odd.
Even knowing that all of the exams are normal, I'm still feeling weird about it. I guess stress can play an important part on how our cycles are affected.
I might look into natural of ways of getting my period. Don't want to have to take any medications.
Sorry I’m still blown away by 66 eggs if you don’t mind me asking are you just freezing your eggs or have you made embryos how Many where you left with?
That’s an amazing thing your doing! And those numbers are mind blowing! Ivf can do a lot to your body and with n stress doesn’t help try and relax (always easier said than done) Give it a few weeks and if you still feel something isn’t right go back to the clinic xx
Oh my goodness I can’t get over this!! And 58 embryos?! That lucky couple must be over the moon if not even a bit overwhelmed with all those possibly babies 😅 an amazing life changing thing you have done for them.
I am no doctor but the IVF drugs are no joke and will affect all our bodies differently, at least in the short term. If you’ve been checked out and everything is good I wouldn’t worry - your body will balance out and do it’s thing eventually ☺️ X
I never thought that you can harvest that many eggs!! 😳🤯🙈 wow that is amazing!! I had 40 eggs in 4 cycles and 25 mature 😂
Mind blowing 🤯
I just wanted to congratulate you for the amazing thing that you did for the couple! They are the luckiest couple that I ever heard of in this IVF world.
Yes, it made me really really happy doing that for another family.
But it's a big deal to me to be able to have my own children soon, so I need to make sure my body will get back to normal and start ovulating again, haha.
Wow I’ve never heard of so many eggs. I got 33 and spent 10 days in hospital very poorly because of it 😩 hope you were ok! I bet your body is just having a bit of a rest after all that.
Echoing what everyone else has said, wow!! All those eggs!! The couple must be overjoyed!!
I heard a that eating papaya can bring your period on or maybe good old fashioned sex (self love or with partner). Worth a try and totally harmless if you’re in the mood 😉 xx
