Positive and negative news.?

On Monday I had my viability scan at 7w+2d and the ultrasound showed i was a week behind but a 'normal' heartbeat.I have been for a private scan this morning to help reassure me, this time an abdominal scan and showed baby had grown from 6.3mm on monday to 13.2mm (first measurement) and then 11.9mm (second measurement) with a visibility stronger heartbeat. I'm a lot happier with the first measurement but the second one has me slightly more concerned. On Monday I was told they would be looking for the baby to have doubled by the time I have to repeat scan at clinic on Monday so today would suggest that should be the case but the sonographer today saw a small bleed to the side of the sac. This wasn't mentioned to me on Monday so not really sure what to make of it.

I'm assuming the internal scan will be more accurate on sizing on Monday so might be roughly where I'm meant to be.

I haven't had any cramping/spotting etc.

Has anyone else experienced a small bleed being picked up and everything being okay?

Yes, I had a moderate bleed. 1 week ago and so for the baby is doing well. I am suppose to graduate from the fertility clinic is 4 days. I’m still on edge myself but everything has been ok. Had a private scan 2 days ago and baby was very active and growing.

Hi lovely I know it’s a really worrying time so sending you a big hug 🤗 We had a bleed (and I was bleeding really heavy too with clots) and they did say it puts at a higher risk of miscarriage so to take it easy (ours was a SCH next to sac and where placenta was forming) it lasted about 5-6 weeks for us but had a happy ending. At the time I read and was told that it is really really common in IVF pregnancies and it defo doesn’t mean the worst. Hi MrsTM. Hopefully today's scan will give you a better result. The blood clot coule even be a sub chorionic haematoma which sometimes occurs befor the placenta starts to form. Fingers crossed all will settle down and your little one will continue to progress as he/she should. Diane

Sorry you’re having such a worrying time. I measured 5 days behind at my 7 week scan. A follow up scan at 8 weeks showed baby’s measurements had caught up but they could see a small bleed, called a sub chorionic haematoma. At 9 weeks, mine bled out, I stood up and had a large painless gush of blood. A scan the following day confirmed the haematoma was almost gone and baby was fine. He’s now 3 months old

As previous posters have said, SCH are quite common with IVF pregnancies xx
