Just looking for a bit of advice from all you lovely ladies. My first round of IVF I got 6 day 5 blastocysts and the first fresh transfer resulted in my little boy who is now two❤️. We are trying for a sibling and I have had 3 artificial/medicated transfers 1 of which resulted in a Chemical pregnancy and the other 2 BFN. I have 2 embryos left which are 3AB and I’m thinking do I try a natural cycle? I have no problems with endometrium lining but just think I need to try something different . I have to call with my period this month which should be in the next 2 weeks can anyone tell me how the natural cycle then goes from calling with your period ?? Your help would be appreciated ❤️❤️

When you call on your Day 1 they will book you in for a day 10 scan and monitor your ovulation by the test kit. The next step will be another scan to confirm ovulation has happened normally booked on the day or after your ovulation day, of course you will need to let them know as soon as you see a surge. Once that is done they will transfer on day 5 after the ovulation day (day 5 blastocyst). The meds should start as soon as ovulation is confirmed.Hope that helps
Hi thanks so much for taking the time to reply I appreciate it . I called my IVF clinic and they generally only put one woman through a natural cycle per month even although I’m self funding they said the next available month is December . I have asked that this be reviewed as feel it’s really unfair having to wait so long just because I want to try a different protocol . So frustrating x
Hi JBell. Looks like you could be a candidate for a natural cycle transfer. "Midsummer_daydream" has explained what happens. It's quite straightforward really, just follow instructions and hopefully you might be in with a winner! Diane
Thanks Diane , clinic are saying no availability for a natural cycle until December I’m not happy about it so asking that this be reviewed I don’t want to wait until then just because I want to try a different protocol x
I fell pregnant with a naturally modified FET. For i called in with my period, then they monitored my womb to make sure it was growing the lining. When it’s a decent thickness I had to do ovulation tests every 12 hours. When I got a rise in LH I had to call in. I was due a scan the next day so we just kept that. The next day the scan was good, I had a trigger shot that night to trigger ovulation then I was to start the progesterone pessaries the next day. My transfer was then 5 days following that.
I was under the impression they go with the protocol most suited to you and if you ovulate regularly then there is no need for a medicated fet! So odd they only put one woman through a natural each month. Perhaps they don’t have the capacity to see and scan everyone at day 10. Not sure if medicated cycles you have scans too, does just seem unfair for you to have to wait so long! Hope you get something sorted x
Hi my clinic is completely natural (no meds or scans at all) so they only have 1 or 2 ladies per month doing this and it took me a few months to get booked on but I did it because I wanted to try something different this time last year. I know all the clinics are different some give a trigger with natural, some do scans etc mine literally you do at home ovulation tests and when you get solid smiley you come on for a blood test to confirm and then transfer is booked for 5 days later. Anyway it didn’t work for me and I'm back to medicated (because for me I know that worked with my little boy) but sometimes it’s an itch you gotta scratch to change it xx
Hello lovely, medicated FET never worked for me, so I am very happy we did natural (modified?) FET, which resulted in my miracle rainbow baby! I was checking my ovulation at home and then had a scan to check my lining and to confirm I was about to ovulate and then they gave me a trigger shot (Ovidrel). Then I had my transfer 7 days after the trigger shot. I had done an ERA test previously so I knew how many hours/days of progesterone I needed before transfer. So, although it was a natural cycle, I had the trigger shot and extra progesterone. Every time it didn't work for us, we tried something different too, so I agree with that approach! Good luck xx
