Progesterone levels post FTET

Dear HealthUnlocked community,

I am back in treatment after a long hiatus. Since I started treatment, it's been a pleasure to see a lot of other people in this network successfully progress their treatment.

I transferred a normal PGS tested embryo on Tuesday and yesterday, I received the news that my progesterone levels on transfer day were at 67 instead of 100, and my clinic "likes them to be at 100". My clinic added a new progesterone medication for me to take, on top of everything else I am already taking, and they will retest my progesterone on Sunday.

Has anybody else already experienced anything similar? I am trying to understand how big of an issue it is.

Hiya, fab news on your transfer! The same thing happened to me (although I can’t remember the exact numbers) and I am now 18 weeks. I had to add progesterone injections. Lots of love and luck! I hope the 2ww goes quickly 🍀💕

Eck, congrats and great news on the transfer. It's good they are testing your levels and while feels like yet another drug it's quite common to have injections as well as pessaries if your levels are not high enough. My clinic wants results to be over 50 so based on that you are in a good place but no such thing as too much and better to be sure.

Wishing you the best of luck xx

Good to know Purple276 thank you for sharing and lots of luck to you!

How weird literally same just happened to me - had transfer on Monday and they called Tuesday to say levels were 88 and they wanted them over 100 so have had to add cyclogest. They took pretty much all day to get a prescription to me so I figured it couldn’t be too urgent? When I did some googling it seemed some clinics like 50 others like 100 so I don’t think either of our levels are really low so 🤞🏻 We are ok! I was literally going to post this exact post on Tuesday! x

Yes my concern is that this happened during my first failed FTET in 2019 and I had signalled this my consultant this year when I saw that my progesterone prescription wasn't as heavy as last time. He increased dosages upon my request but still not to the final levels they were at in 2019. And now, here we go again, I have to take the extra medication which I had requested in the first place. Really hope this is not too much of an issue. Thank you for the reassurance. And it's fantastic to hear that you had a transfer too! Congrats!

Ps I am back after long hiatus too and am being retested Saturday! Are you with a clinic in London by any chance? x
