Hi - it can be so hard to know what to do or not do. This article is based on the scientific literature and may help you helloclue.com/articles/cycl...
In short, repeatedly taking anti-inflammatories seems to interrupt ovulation, but occasional one off use doesn’t seem to have evidence.
With my first daughter, I regularly took Ibuprofen in high doses as prescribed by a doctor as I had no idea about the link and got pregnant right away (and then stopped taking it). I haven’t taken it regularly since and 5 years on had a miscarriage at 20 weeks and a missed miscarriage - and 6 failed embryo transfers (all unexplained). I have been been reflecting what was different in my first two pregnancies which happened easily and naturally - the third was natural but took 3 years. I used to exercise a lot more (hard with IVF and lots of ovary pain and fatigue) and used topical corticosteroids and anti-inflammatoires regularly. Hard to know really but I’m about to start adalimumab injections and corticosteroids. I wonder whether maybe I had inflammation that I was regularly controlling and therefore had no issues. We will never know!
Good luck!
