OHSS Symptoms

Hi,

I've been suffering with ovarian hyperstimulation symptoms since my egg collection on Friday. Has anyone else had this? How long does it usually last? I have a constant bloated achy feeling.

Hello! Sorry to hear you developed OHSS. I did too. For me the main symptoms were bloating and very painful cramps that came and went. My clinic told me to take a few protein shakes per day because they help absorb the liquid building up in the body. I also discovered protein yoghurts. Took electrolyte sports drinks and used a hot water bottle. My OHSS peaked on days 5-6 after egg collection and improved afterwards. Fingers crossed yours settles soon too!

How interesting, I'm going to give this a go thank you. I'm going to try this, it does come and go like you said but seems to be worse in the evening! Thanks for the reply x

Hi Jord/ Oh dear, not nice. This can carry on for a few weeks I'm afraid, depending on how severe it is. Drink at least 3L water a day and make sure your urine is pale in clour. If not or should you become breathless, see a doctor asap. Hope it soon settles. Diane
