Thanks for the supportive replies yesterday. It turns out i do have OHSS. Stomach is rly distended (i thought it was but didnt want to over-react). Had a scan and bloods taken & home with anti blood clotting injections (had 1 in hospital, ouch so stingy!) and wearing some very sexy stockings to help prevent clots! Have to measure my wee coming out (lovely lol) and fluids going in! One of nurses commented it can be a good sign re pregnancy as ur body is releasing hormones but when i smiled she said oh but it might not, so that brought me back down to earth again lol. She is a lovely nurse, just says what she thinks 🙈
Was told to try and continue as normal so did a bit of shopping and now home on sofa. Worried i lifted too much shopping, over thinking things now. Wasnt anything rly heavy but still! Yesterday i worried i wasnt active enough. Cant win lol.
Xx

i don’t know how stressful your job is, but if you can take some time off, then do. i didn’t get OHSS but my follicles went into overdrive, to the point where i was actually limping 🤣
Thank you! Its a rly stressful job so ive been off the past few weeks. Think il need to extend by a week. Thanks for your support xx
You’re sounding positive which I hope is the case. I would definitely take next week off- you can self-certify up to the first week so don’t need a note from the GP. There’s a special form. It’s nothing you had done- it’s all outside your hands now. All you can do is take the meds and the ouchey heparin injection (you will get bruises!). Take it easy x
You have been through the wars! You poor thing. So glad you called clinic and hopefully things will improve for you quickly.
I am so glad you wrote about your shopping. I have also been torturing myself about lifting groceries today. I’ve been taking things super easy but sort of forgot myself at the supermarket. I’ve been in rotten humour since. Had a few twinges and cramps since and have been trying to quiten the annoying voice in my head that’s saying, you’ve ruined it now!
Like you say, you cannot win!! Really hope that you begin to feel a lot better soon 😘 xx
What are we like 🤣 they do say to carry on as normal though! I lifted several things without a basket and then felt the weight. Wouldn't normally phase me but then i was panicking thinking what have i done! Equally lying on a sofa for a fully day isnt very normal and ur meant to continue as u would! The nurses told me embroys are pretty robust. If they can survive others partying and drinking im sure lifting some shopping wont hurt. Im saying all this as im trying to quieten the "tut tut tut" scolding my head is giving me for doing it!!! X
Oh I know exactly how you feel! Those little voices are the worst aren’t they? I daren’t tell my hubby about it. He’s been doing all the housework in the evening so I will take it easy when he’s at work 🤦🏼♀️ Then as you say it’s not normal to laze around too much either. Although in fairness you actually have a reason to rest up with your OHSS. Today’s the first day I’ve felt a bit of a wobble coming on 😳
My hubby and mum have been doing all mine. I had been feeling tho that i should be more active so think walk round shops was a good idea... jus dont feel i should have lifted the groceries. Though to be honest the clinic dont tell u not to do any of those things and lots od people will be at work so im sure in grand scheme of things its ok! I hope!!!!! In doing nothing tomorrow lol. Having OHSS was the reason i went shopping though. The nurse said it wasnt good to just lie about, need to get blood moving and carry on as normal. I blame the nurse lol xx
Haha, yes blame her 🤭 I know loads of women won’t even know they might be pregnant and will be hoovering away or will have a toddler in each arm and it makes no difference. That’s what the logical part of my brain says anyway!
I lay down there for a while in my bed and fell asleep. I’m actually really knackered today. Who knew taking it easy was so exhausting 😭
Hey there. I hope that you're doing good. I'm sorry to hear about your OHSS. It is an actually a condition which affects the ovaries of some women who take fertility medication. In order to stimulate egg growth. The condition is rarely severe and can lead to death. Symptoms include decreased urination, shortness of breath, blood clots in legs. nausea and vomiting are also included. If you have these symptoms it means that you definitely have OHSS. it's possible to get pregnant having OHSS. but symptoms may get worse if this happens. Your baby won't be affected by this. Yes, your nurse is right. Sometimes hormone secretion can lead to pregnancy in such cases but sometimes not. It's good that you've found some supportive people around you in this case. You were advised to act normal so you don't get stressed. But you're doing the same thing. Don't do things if you're not sure on them. Try making yourself as comfortable as you can. This will surely help you. I hope that the future brings best to you. Best of luck.
