What main tests to check at 6 or 7 week

Hi ladies

I will be getting my bloods back Tuesday to see if pregnancy hcg is going up. If they do GP said they will book a scan at 6 or 7 weeks. If I do get this far what main tests do I have to get done for any problems with the child? To make sure can check for any abnormalities?

If NHS you will have a scan plus blood tests at 12 weeks which will test for Down’s, Edward’s and Patau’s syndromes (the latter two being usually incompatible with life or the babies die very soon after being born). You can also choose to have a private blood test which is more accurate than the NHS screening called the Harmony or Panorama test which looks for the same conditions (the NHS will also offer this test for free but only if your result comes back as high risk). Then you have another anomaly scan at 20 weeks once baby is more developed. Not all conditions can be picked up before birth through any of these methods but these screenings look for the most common ones. If your screenings come back as high risk then you will be offered an amniocentesis which is diagnostic but invasive.

Congrats on the pregnancy. I had checks done for rh factor, pre eclampsia ( as I have a clotting disorder), protein in urine, and diabetes as I have a family history. I am scheduled for nipt and 13 week anamoly scan. I also had a 10 week due date scan and blood pressure checks.

Thank you so.much ladies after 8 years can't say anything yet as still need to wait for my both blood results which will come Tuesday. Let's see hope for the best with God's blessing. 🙏
