Aquascan - is it painful?

I know everyone experiences pain differently - but was wondering what I should brace myself for in terms of pain/discomfort of the aquascan pre my frozen transfer.....

Not sure if anyone has anything to share....

Hi Eb20,

I was really worried before both the 3DSIS (I think it’s the same as aqua scan) and HYCOSY. The clinic told me to take paracetamol an hour before the procedure and I actually didn’t really have any pain, just some very mild discomfort. Both were over really quickly. Best of luck x

I had one about 6 months ago. I did the same with paracetamol before. Mine was quite painful but it was because I had LOADS of fibroids in my uterus. They even apologised afterwards and said it was a) worse because of that and b) they had to do it for longer as they had so many photos to take. The good news is literally as soon as it was done I was fine so it was only a temporary pain, and I think if I had realised it would be like that it almost wouldn't have been so painful as I was worried it would go on for ages! In summary, unless you have double figure fibroids you should be fine Good luck xx

Ok - so from recent explorations I think I don't have any fibroids - but you never know.

Thanks for sharing your experience it is helpful to know what can happen.

Will def take pain killers beforehand xxx
