I just wanted some advice re Lubion injections - I tried Intamuscular into the thigh which was quite painful, the nurse told me I could inject into the stomach instead but this was really bad yesterday - a lot worse than the thigh. Is it normal? I didn’t have this problem with my other meds so wondering if it is a component of the injection I’m reacting to ( I have a lump and a lot of pain in stomach from yesterday ). Defo going back into the thigh today but I’m worried about keeping this up twice a day for 3 months 🙄. Tips please !

Painful Lubion injections ?
I started my lubion last week too and I’ve been doing them in the belly but they are painful 😣 I get a lump and the skin goes white for a few hours and the stomach is really sore all day!! So I think it’s quite normal unfortunately... xx
I had to do these twice a day too until around 18wks. Hopefully you have nice thin needles to start with for injecting. I found that sticking to my lower tummy helped (bikini line) and stick to the sides closer to the hip but still on your abdomen. I tried into the fleshy higher parts of my tummy thinking there was more padding but bad idea, I got the lump and bruising. The only other things I thought helped were when injecting were to squeeze the lubion in super slow then give it a rub afterwards to help it disperse. Not sure if that might help you too Catlady12345 Good luck.xx
Ugh they are the worst! I use a little ice pack on my tummy for about 15 seconds before, then inject reeeeaaaalllly slowly, then use the ice pack again after for about the same. It does need a little gentle rub to help it disperse as Cinderella5 says. I tend to use the fattest tummy spot, about 1 inch from my tummy button alternating left and right. xx
Ooooh I found the fatty bits even worse....not that I don't have many of those! Ha ha ha Oh and also avoid the waistband of where trousers/leggings sit etc.xx
Really!! I tried a bit lower than the tummy flab and it was so painful!! Gosh its just trial and error really isn't it... xx
My progesterone injections were painful so its is totally normal, it did get better as I got used to it. I had Progiron which is a french version but it is an injection you can also do subcutaneous instead of intramuscular which is way less painful, so look in the instructions and see if you can use that type of needle instead
Randomly I found injecting the left side of my abdomen a lot better than the right side.
I use a heat pack before. Get my partner to do them in my bum. Heat pack and rub well after. It has made them so much better
