I've been given a date with the fertility clinic in Neath in March. I've already been seen and had the Height/Weight/Swabs etc and I'm having the AMH & My partners sample test in 2 weeks.
Just wondering if anyone had has IVF on the NHS before and if the treatment will start at the 2nd appointment or is it just to discuss options? HELP! I don't know what to expect and I'm so on edge! I don't want to get my hopes up to be starting treatment then, only to be told there's another wait!
Thanks in advance xx

Hi Cupcake. Probably not too much more to do, but the folloA chat about giving yourself injections, plus when these will start. Then there will be some legal paperwork to fill in, which you may have to take away for GP to sign. You might be invited to an open evening to learn all about the process from start to finish, although this is not always offered. An internal scan of your ovaries may be done too to check for any cysts on your ovaries. Arrangements may also be made for you to have a laparoscopy or an HSG (hysterosalpingogram) to check your tubes if required. Can’t think of anything else, but wanted to say good luck with it all, and hope all goes OK. Diane
That's not too bad then! I've already had the hysterosalpingogram and I had a cyst removed my my ovary 2 week's ago so I'm hoping that all the tests needed have been done 🤞
That's great news that you're having IVF through the NHS. After being referred to a fertility clinic, it was all pretty quick - had an appointment and got on a cycle. However, we were in a position where our NHS IVF was going to run out (as in our area you only have 6 months to start since being referred and we had put it off), so we didn't really have the option to have an appointment to just discuss options (if that's something you want).
