I had a frozen embryo transfer on 5/31/2022. Started getting positive tests starting 4dp5dt. First beta level was 306 on 9dp5dt, then 2500 13dp5dt, and most recently 11000(!!!) on 16pd5dt.
Had first ultrasound done at exactly 5 weeks (clinic wanted it). At that time, beta was 11000 as noted above. They saw two gestational sacs; one smaller than the other. But no yolk sac or fetal pole in either.
Nurse said it was too early to tell and that I should come back in 10 days for a repeat scan.
I wouldn't be so worried if it wasn't for the very high HCG level -- a lot of the medical sites seem to state that an beta level >2000 should correlate with a fetal pole, etc, and that having just two gestational sacs without anything inside them with a beta of >11000 might portend something bad like blighted ovum (what are the odds of having TWO blighted ovums at the same time!? )
Positive stories, please!!

Hi lovely, I could be wrong but 5 weeks is super early for scanning. I had mine around week 7 that was with the NHS as they wouldn’t scan earlier than that. You beta is high so fingers crossed it just a case of it being so early xxx
We had a scan where I was 5 weeks + 6 days. Clinic booked this in early as my HCG was so high on day 14 at 5564! I didn't want a scan this early. They could only see yolk sac no fetal pole and I was devastated. Went back after one week and there was a heartbeat 🥰 yours is way too soon. Don't lose hope!! ❤️💫
Everything will be different in 10 days! The hcg is probably high due to the double pregnancy, at the next scan you will see the fetal poles with heartbeats! Let us know! Xxx
Just in case anyone is following this, an update: had another ultrasound at 6w4d and two faint heartbeats were found. Had a follow up ultrasound at 7w6d and so far so good: two heartbeats at 160-170 each, embryos measuring 1 day ahead. Next hurdle is the 12 wk scan. This rollercoaster is not easy…hoping to make it til then!
The saga continues 😐. I’m 8w4d today. Today I had my last scan with the IVF clinic and while they continue to see two strong heartbeats, one of the gestional sacs is quite small and lagging behind by a week, despite the embryo size being appropriate for 8w4d. Clinic says this may be a sign of impending loss and that it needs to be monitored. Other baby is tracking well. I had a little bleeding this morning and they also said I have a small subchorionic hemorrhage that hopefully will resolve on its own. This stress is killing me.
We lost the boy twin with the small gestational sac. It was traumatic and I still grieve him. The girl twin is now 12 months old and the love of our lives.
