So I had my first 6 week ultrasound today and my doctor appeared slightly concerned that my gestational sac was small and my fetal tadpole was less than 2mm. He did not mention anything about a heartbeat. I'm curious to ask if this has happened to others? My beta-hcg results were great and on target (greater than 4000). I am back for another ultrasound next week to see if I am growing. I am wondering if I implanted late and maybe that's why the embryo is slowly growing? As for pregnancy symptoms-I don't have any nausea or breast tenderness but I do take frequent bathroom trips, fatigue, metallic taste in my mouth, and hunger pains. Any tips or suggestions would be great!

Hello, sorry you havent had an entirely joyous first scan but there is still hope.
I had a missed miscarriage and I was two months pregnant, breast tenderness, weeing often. Then I started a light bleed. At the scan they said it measured for around a 6 week pregnancy but my heart sank when said they couldn't see a foetal pole and it would unlikely continue to grow. A heart beat wasnt detected but sometimes 6 weeks is too early for that I later found out. My bleed got much heavier that evening.
Your scan sounds more positive than mine with a pole detected. I will be willing your little embryo on and hope there is a heartbeat next time. X
Thank you for replying and sharing your story. I am feeling a bit more hopeful. This was my third IVF transfer-the other two resulted in an early miscarriage and each time it was harder for me to recover and become hopeful again. Fingers crossed for next week and thank you for your well wishes. I wish the same for you-knowing that you did become pregnant is always a good sign to try again when you're ready. Sending you lots of love xo
