Hi All,

This is my 2nd transfer and I've forgotten how i did it last time! My clinic just said come with a full bladder.

Is 800ml enough? I'm thinking to start drinking from an hour before my appointment. I just don't want to drink too much too soon where I'm uncomfortable.

About an hour before, around 5 glasses of water should do it!

Take a full water bottle (about a litre) and sip it slowly in the hour leading up to your transfer until you feel just a bit full (then time should fill your bladder with everything you've sipped so far!)

It works as long as the transfers are running on time. My last 2 were running late and by the time I got seen I was very uncomfortable!

I would say start drinking 1litre half an hour before your actual time. I was told 3.30pm so started drinking from 3pm but the transfer actually happened around 4.30pm and I was very very uncomfortable to the point that I never felt before. They done a quick check and saw my bladder was full and ready, I do have a weak bladder so had to stuff tissues down there to force myself not to pee. When I sat down and the dr did the transfer I could feel pee coming out but the dr said it’s fine lol. Dw you got this x

I was told (a little bit late on transfer day) that it takes 2 hours for fluid to make it to your bladder so start a bit earlier, but be aware that you might be waiting a little while

I had mine yesterday! They said have a wee an hour before your appointment then I drank probably about a pint of water in the hour leading up to it, and it was most definitely enough I was busting!!All the best today 💕💕💕

Its only natural to feel scared and nervous 2nd time around. I have decided to not test til OTD. Last time i tested early and the whole 2 weeks i was miserable. Wish you all the best for your journey xxx

Hi, everyone’s bladder is different and some people are more hydrated than others. Having had 5 transfers now, I found for me last pee an hour before I wanted a full bladder then started drinking. Had a large full glass of water fairly quickly then drank gradually up to the appointment time. I would not risk half an hour to fill as most people will struggle to fill enough in that time especially if it’s a morning appointment where the body is naturally a bit dehydrated from overnight. Good luck and all the best for 2ww.x

Does anyone know the reason why the bladder needs to be full? Does it make it easier for them to see the womb on the scan or something? Got my transfer on Monday so also wondering how much to drink to get the balance between being enough and not agony needing to pee during the procedure :) xx

I think (not 100% sure) its to help push the uterus down a bit so its easier for them to insert the catheter and also because the scan is more clear. I ended up drinking waay too much where i had to pee just before and immediately after my transfer.

So i woke up had my tea as normal, 3 glasses of water (not in aim to fill my bladder). I went to pee 1 hour before my transfer/when i left home for my app.

I took a 800ml water bottle with me, 1/4 of the way in i already felt full so i stopped. I was bursting. So even though i went to pee before i left it was enough that i had 3/4 glasses of liquid from before lol.

So i would say hold off drinking til probably an hour before your appointment so you are best comfortable. All the best!xx

Thank you - that makes sense as to why they like it to be full. I’ll go with an hour before just as we leave the house and hope they don’t keep me waiting too long :).

Hope you’re enjoying the PUPO feeling. I usually go bonkers during the 2ww 😁 xx

Haha I’ve got that to look forward to! I think I’ll test early this time as I want to see if I get anything at all, it’s always been BFNs up until now (2 fresh and 1 natural FET) so I’m curious for any information at all on chemicals etc.

Do you think you will test early but later on? I was planning day 8/9/10. They’ve said it’s 15 days at my clinic for 5 day blasto 🙄 xx

My transfer was on 26th and test day is the 9th of may but i reckon i might test on the 7th or 8th. Thats about as early i can go. Last time i tested 7dpt and it was bfn and it really got me in a negative mood, so i wnt to hold onto the could i be pregnant feeling while i can. Xx

Yes that makes sense as it just causes negative emotions. I’m still toying with it! Good luck for the rest of the 2ww and I hope you get a positive 🤞🤞 xx
