How much progesterone during fresh cycle and after transfer

Hello ladies

I’m currently 3dp5dt and I’m a bit worried about my progesterone levels after my fresh transfer. The clinic did not test my progesterone levels before the transfer or after and I’m scared that my levels might be too low to help this work. Previously in my frozen cycles I have had low progesterone (with a different clinic) where they have had to give me a prontegest injection just before the transfer and then I had to continue with the injections and pessaries but this time nothing was done to monitor my levels even though I mentioned I was worried.

This time, I started off on 2x400mg cyclogest after egg collection and then from transfer day 3 x 400mg of cyclogest...I still have some of my prontogest left from my frozen cycle but I’m worried to take things into my own hands as the clinic don’t seem concerned about it, at the same time I’m worried about doing nothing to help my chances especially as we didn’t have any frozen embryos this time so if it doesn’t work we will be starting right back at the beginning again and that won’t be any time soon. I think this 2ww during is driving me insane :(

Can you take too much progesterone? Can anyone share how much they were on during a fresh cycle please? X

Hi

Do you have and private clinics close by that you could pay to go and have a blood test?

I’ve been taking 1 injection every day since transfer and I’m having pessaries morning and night

I’m under a clinic in Spain so I’m doing everything I can for myself in England and have only gone over to Spain for the transfer

They took a blood test before my transfer to check my levels and it was 10 they told me to continue until I got a heartbeat

This is my 1st experience of the injections as only had pessaries on my other transfers and that was in England with my own eggs and my levels were never checked on my failed attempts, I have been going to a private clinic in England to have scans and blood tests etc so maybe you could find a clinic and see if they can do a blood test 🤞🙏 xx

Just checked out about 5 nearby clinics and none will do a test without a letter from my clinic even if it’s private x

That’s ridiculous if your willing to pay for a blood test they should do it, I go to reproductive health daresbury park it’s near Warrington I have rang them numerous times to ask if they can do a particular test and had no problems because I’m paying them, keep trying just say what you need and don’t tell them anything else good luck xx

No luck sadly, most in my area aren’t willing to do it unless you are a patient with them. Just ordered a home test kit to do it myself xx

I’m not a patient with the clinic I go too but they are happy to take my money, the whole thing is madness, good luck 🤞 xx

I really don’t understand it myself. Doesn’t make sense because it’s not like I’m asking for medication just to have my levels checked. My clinic haven’t taken it seriously either when I’ve questioned it. I’ve wasted so much of my energy worrying about it so just going to hope my test arrives soon and all is good! Thank you!🙏 xxx

Hi Hope_JN. Why don't you speak to your clinic and explain your anxieties. I'm sure they will have worked out what you need, taking into account your body producing some progesterone too. Perhaps arrange a private blood test to put your mind at ease?? Hope all turns out to be positive for you. Diane

My understanding is frozen medicated cycles need more progesterone than fresh as I think they inhibit ovulation, so you make zero, unlike a fresh cycle when you will make a bit. Was your FET medicated or natural? I’m on a high dose of progesterone for a fresh cycle but I have problems bleeding between periods normally so not a good comparison. However, they have never measured my progesterone during the cycle even with my history. Medichecks will do progesterone from a finger prick so that’s an option if you want reassurance, but as others have said maybe the first port of call is to discuss concerns with your clinic xx

Thank you for explaining, this is my first fresh transfer, the way I’ve been stressing about this I don’t think it’s done me any good. I’ve just ordered the medichecks progesterone test so it should come within the next two days 🤞 at least I can have an idea of what my levels are. Thanks again xx
