We have a d5Fresh transfer scheduled for tomorrow, feeling a bit nervous 😬 , hopefully we get good news about our embryos tomorrow !
My belly is very bloated and had an issue earlier today , I couldn’t empty bladder properly, the nurses just say to keep drinking water… hopefully is nothing serious but it’s made me paranoid to be like this right before the transfer !!! Has anyone experienced something similar ? Any advice would be much appreciated!
sending loads of good luck and hope your way , I hope you’re all keeping strong and being kind to yourselves xxx

1 hr before just drink 8 Oz of water and don't go to toilet . Don't drink too much because after that you can feel literally pain like I did when I had my transfer for the first time. I drank too much. And I had to go to the toilet twice before transfer. I said Sorry girls I can't do that feels really uncomfortable. They said don't worry just go to the toilet and count until 10 and then stop and come back . Yes funny experience. Good luck today.
thanks again, you were so right !! It all happened so quickly, I even asked if I had a little rest after that, and they were like ‘no that’s it, you can stand up now’, they even said it was ok to walk back home (we live 0.8 mi away) , I feel much calmer now !
I have to survive until this Sunday, now it's not too far. I told you transfer is the easiest thing which is so funny because you expect it's the hardest part but I think all journey it can be taught, and obviously result and all the emotions common with that. Enjoy your lovely time and drink plenty of water !!
You’re so close now ! I hope everything goes really well 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 sending you loads of luck and good vibes ! Yes it’s definitely the rollercoaster of emotions whilst moving along this journey and juggling with everything else !
I developed OHSS after egg collection, so probably a different cause for the bloating, but my consultant told me to drink protein shakes/have protein yoghurts to help absorb the excess liquid in my tummy. They really helped though we did have to do a freeze all due to the risk of it getting worse. I hope you feel better soon!
thank you for taking the time to share your experience, I’m sorry that you experienced ohss, I hope all is going well now in your journey! This crossed my mind but not really sure how to spot the OHSS symptoms, it made me worried as I had never experienced this but also my belly was very bloated (I followed the pineapple advice probably not one for me ! ), thanks for the protein tip, I’ll keep this in mind
You are very welcome and thank you for the well wishes! I have PCOS, which put me at a high risk of OHSS and had 32 follicles collected (another sign in that direction). The main symptom was very painful cramps that I had to breathe through and quite high levels of discomfort when moving around and peeing. They diagnosed it on the day I was supposed to have my fresh transfer by seeing the liquid in my abdomen. Hopefully you don't have it but worth reading up about the symptoms and asking your clinic to check you tomorrow to make sure you are ready for transfer. Very best of luck!
Yes it does sound likenit could be OHSS. Especially with the difficulty going for a wee too! If you're drinking lots, you should be weeing out roughly the same amount.
I had my egg collection last week and got 17 eggs. I was really bloated, in a bit of pain and worrying about ohss (and therefore having to freeze all!)
I had to go for a tummy scan the day before intended transfer so they could check for free fluid. She asked a lot how often I was weeing and if any difficulty. She said it was really good that I was weeing lots. For me, there wasn't any free fluid and I could go ahead with the transfer (last egg collection they did a freeze all because of the same worries but didn't actually scan, just canceled it!)
I'm currently 4dt5dt and bloating and pain has gone!
I'd ask for a tummy scan first, as if you have it and then get pregnant it can get a lot lot worse and be very painful (and even hospitalise you)!
Hope it's just pain from egg collection and goes down like mine did too!!! X
thank you for taking the time to respond and sharing the advice, luckily I’m feeling more normal today but I’ll follow your advice and ask them to check, in my case they only collected 11 eggs, they said there was no fluid and I felt pretty much normal apart from slightly swollen belly, but yesterday was a bit uncomfortable with the bladder issue so like you say better to make sure it’s just something mild.
I hope you’re feeling well and wish you all the best of luck with the 2ww!!
it has all gone well thank god ! They test me for infection but it was all fine , they reassured me it couldn’t be Ohss but most likely something hormonal, and now I’m ready to just wait 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Thanks again for your kind advice, wishing you the best of luck xx
that’s so sweet, thanks for checking. I’m ok now thanks. They only tested me for infection on the day and it was all clear. The consultant didn’t think it could be Ohss, so had the fresh transfer last Wednesday and I didn’t get the awkward bladder issue again so I’m very relieved!. Now just waiting until the 5th June to do the test 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🫨. How are you doing ? Hope it’s all going well on your end, sending you loads of good luck xx
