Really heavy period after failed FET. Sorry for the TMI!

My transfer date was 25.03.2022.

My test date was 13 days later 07.04.2022 which was negative.

I took my morning pessaries on the 07.04.2022 because I took them earlier than my clinic was open but then spoke to my clinic afterwards who said to stop them going forward.

My first full drug free day was the 08.04.2022.

I started spotting 09.04.2022 which continued and turned into a really heavy period 11.02.22.

I do suffer from really heavy painful periods with clots anyway because of my adenomyosis / endometriosis however, this is horrific and the clots are huge. Still on day 4! I went out today and was out for no longer than 45 mins and by the time I got home, I had completely leaked through my night time pad, it came through my jeans front and back and I had to take my clothes off in the shower when I got home because it was running down my legs.

Sorry for the graphic details but is this normal? Is it a side effect of the hormone medication I was on? My G.P did say the blood thinners I was on shouldn't contribute to a heavier period as they should be out of my system.

It all just seems very quick to be bleeding and very intense.

Thanks in advance!

Eurgh sounds horrible! In my experience blood thinners make my periods very heavy and ‘floody’ so this doesn’t sound unusual but keep an eye and if it’s still going over next few days maybe speak to your clinic? Hugs xx

Ahh what a nightmare. This sounds really tough Jade. I think it's sadly normal for the bleed after an unsuccessful transfer to be more heavy and if you struggle at the best of times (bless you 😢) it probably isn't anything to worry about. But I'd give your clinic a call just to reassure yourself if you're worried xx

Hello Jade, so sorry to hear about your recent transfer failure :(I've just been through this myself

When I started bleeding it lasted 9 days and every day was super heavy.

I think it's all the extra progesterone you are taking. Seems pretty normal.

That's what lots of googling and talking to other patients told me anyway.

Good luck for whatever you decide to do in the future

Sorry again for your dad news 🥺
