I hope you’re keeping well and looking after yourselves!
I’m in the process of preparing for a FET cycle and am due to start my medication shortly. I’ve got a few social events coming up over the next few days, some of which include larger gatherings for drinks/dinners in restaurants. Do you think it’s irresponsible to join these events as I would increase my Covid risk and potentially would have to cancel the cycle if I was to become infected? I really don’t want to delay my cycle again as I’ve had to delay it for several months already because of cysts.
I’ve had Covid in January and am hoping that I have a good number of antibodies. Spent last weekend in London with friends, and it turns out one of them now tested positive with Covid – I’m still testing negative, but I've become really wary now!
Any advice is appreciated! I’ve been agonising over this for days now and would really appreciate your input!
Thanks so much!! xx

Not sure whereabouts you’re based, I’m in East Anglia and the numbers have shot up here this week. My sister just tested positive and she only had it at Christmas and is triple jabbed.
I would personally skip the stuff before your FET if you really don’t want to risk it. I don’t think you’re being irresponsible if you decide to still go but you do need to be ok with the idea your cycle might be cancelled. So hard! Every time I think we are moving forward, feels like we get thrown back in it xx
Hi lovely. It's one in 25 people in England who have it atm, so I'd be cautious of indoor venues! xx
I personally wouldn't risk it. I have been laid up since my operation 5 weeks ago and it was my birthday on Saturday so had my first 'night out' which involved lunch at Wagamamas.. rock and roll. Wore my mask all the time I wasn't eating - started feeling poorly Monday and tested positive and full blown symptoms today! Whilst we need to get on with life I am just pleased I don't have anything except a return to work that will be cancelled by my positive. I am double jabbed plus boostered and really didn't expect to catch it for a bowl of chilli chicken ramen! its all rather disappointing and I would be really kicking myself and thinking 'that wasn't worth it' if I just had had to cancel my FET. So unless these social events are life changing I personally wouldn't risk it. Good luck xx
Hi all, thanks so much for getting back to me, it's so helpful reading your opinions and experiences! I just really hate it that not only does the fertility journey impact our health, wellbeing and finances, but that it's impacting on social lives and the fun things that life brings is just terrible!! Really don't want to live like a hermit especially after 2 years of covid, lockdowns and all that.
I've cancelled for the bday party last night and also cancelled another outing we had planned for a long time with a group of friends for tomorrow. Have tickets for the opera for tonight and I really don't want to cancel this too - am considering wearing masks all the way through and skip any drinks/ dinner before/ after. x
