Hi everyone! I haven’t posted in here for well over 2 years now, I can’t believe how far I’ve come and how unbelievably lucky I am to be a Mummy to a beautiful, happy and healthy son.
Back in January (feels like an age ago since lockdown etc) we were referred back to our fertility clinic, and next month we have our nurse info session for preparation for FET... here come the nerves again!!!
Would be really interested to hear your experiences of FET. Our little frozen embie was day 5 blastocyst (same stage as our embie used in our last IVF cycle) Does anyone know if the longer the embryo is frozen the less successful the pregnancy?!
Thanks all, looking forward to reconnecting to you all xxx

Just wanted to say good luck for your FET! I’ve done four fresh cycles and one FET and honestly a frozen transfer is an absolute breeze compared to fresh so don’t worry, you’ll be fine. For mine I took Progynova tablets 3 times a day for 10 days then had a scan to check pining was thick enough and started progesterone. Transfer was 5 days later.
Frozen embryos don’t degrade when they’re frozen either, the methods they use nowadays are so advanced xx
I’m assuming I’ll have to have norethisterone again to make a period then go from there! I’m mostly prepared for it I think, but I’m nervous as nothing is for certain - I’m trying to prepare for anything 🤞🏼
I had to take norethisterone for my fresh cycle but not frozen. Think it depends on the clinic though! Some do make you down reg for a frozen but you don’t need to (it’s only done for their scheduling) xx
Hi there 😊 I'm in almost exactly the same situation as you, my little boy (3rd fresh cycle) turned 2 on Monday, and I'm waiting for my scan and consultantion to use our frozen embryo! I feel nervous too, are you taking any specific vitamins or doing anything to prepare? Xxx
Hi ya. Yes I was advised to take Pregnacare pre conception and co enzyme q10 after our over the phone consultation in April. Had my scan and bloods two weeks ago 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Feeling all sorts! Although being back at the clinic wasn’t the same, all the social distancing and extra measures taking to protect staff and patients made it feel very... strange I can’t explain! They warned me at the scan partners wont be able to attend for the transfer 😔
Aw thanks for replying, it's nice to have someone at the same stage! Yes I've also got pregnacare and Co enzyme, what dose of Co enzyme are you taking? It's a shame about partners, but not too bad for fet, it's so quick isn't it! Xxx
I had my first fresh cycle of IVF in March 2016 which resulted in my now 3.5 year old boy! At the time the embryo for him was transferred we had one other 5 day embryo to freeze.
In January 2020 we had the FET and now I’m 25 weeks pregnant with another little boy!!
I can’t believe my luck that it had worked first times both times!!
Wishing you all the luck in the world with your FET!! Xxx
