Please can someone help me find a sperm bank in Europe - struggling!

Hi All, I am trying to find a donor and I am really struggling. I have a strong preference for a European donor (I want to avoid a UK donor to minimise the likelihood of my child unknowingly meeting their sibblings, and want to avoid the USA because donor in America can donate to an unlimited number of families, which I find highly concerning).

I have done a lot of reasearch so far and I am finding that european donors who can donate to the UK and who are CMV negative are few and far between.

If anyone can reccommend a good sperm back I would really love to hear from you! I have completed all my own blood tests and scans and am ready to start treatment, the only thing I am missing is the donor!!! Quite key!

I personally found European Sperm bank really good, back in the day 😉(I did solo treatment for a whole, very long story, read my bio if you want to read a soap opera). Think you also have to choose one your UK clinic works with (assuming you're in the UK) as they will usually have arrangements in place with certain ones but not others. For instance, I had looked at one called SellmerDiers which I liked the look of but couldn't use them for my IVF as my UK clinic didn't have a thing set up with them (think they COULD have set up an agreement, but it was around the time of Brexit and I felt it would be faster to order from one the UK clinic had used before) xx

Thank you!! I have already looked at every donor on the European Sperm Bank site and Sellmer Diers but will keep my eyes pealed incase any new donors show up. Thanks again!!!

Hi.

I was in your position and needed a CMV negative donor and found there was a very limited choice.

I also could only use certain sperm banks recommended by my clinic as they have links with certain ones.

I ended up using european sperm bank and the ones I wanted to use were out of stock (Oct 21) so I messaged them and they gave me rough dates of when they were coming in stock again. I then clicked the notify me by email and waited for them to come back In stock. It took a few months but I managed to get who I wanted in Dec 21.

Make sure you ask your clinic how many vials you will need for treatment.. as you pay quite a few hundred euros for delivery so best to purchase what you need in one go. You also need to buy a pregnancy slot if your in the UK.

My clinic also recommended Cryos international but found a donor I preferred on European sperm bank.
