DHEA and Melatonin

Hiya again. I’m very two minded about these two supplements. The clinic suggested I could take them without any testing and I read that it might not be a good idea for everyone to take DHEA.

My AMH was around 17 a year back so I’m not sure if taking these will just improve my egg quality without any side effects.

My egg collection will be in two months so if I order now, I’ll only be able to take them for about 6 weeks maybe. Is it worth it or do you need to be on them for long periods?

Hi ideally 12 weeks beforeA cycle but no harm in taking them now as your amh seems good for your age? Dhea and melatonin did help me with good blastocysts but unsure about the actual grading as didn’t have any testing as yet. I’ve been taking melatonin lately and it really helps me sleep ! X

Hi can get it here but it’s hard I got the one recommended in zita wests book it’s called fertinatal. It did help improve amh for me and also u got more follicles and blastocysts. But I took them 12 weeks before hand. And you stop at egg collection.

50mg is fine a day for now.

If your struggling to get any harley st clinic sell them but you may need a consultation.

I take melatonin and only used that this time around so far it’s helped me sleep amazing! But I have no idea whether it’ll help or not. I’ll keep u poster x

I got my dhea from USA - had it delivered to Africa and someone brought it over for me. The other option is to see if the clinic will factor growth hormone in

Hi Mahriya,

I had AMH level measured in January and it was 9.8 pmo/l. Our doctor suggested DHEA tablets, 25mg 3xper day, and I’ve been taking those since mid of February.

I planned to order those through our local pharmacy, but they would charge us £150.00, so we decided to order them ourselves from the USA for £30.00. I will PM you with the link to the website we used.

♥All the best on your journey♥

I tested 8.4 for AMH last year and started taking DHEA (50mg) a day for the last 5 months before egg collection. I haven’t had my AMH tested again but had a good egg retrieval and 4 fertilised eggs make it to blastocysts (one for transfer and 3 for freezing). No way to know but I think this contributed towards our positive results. I ordered them from USA online, one container has lasted me all this time and still have some left. Only think to note, I think they made me gain weight and my hair a bit more brittle. I wasn’t overweight to start with thankfully, but I steadily put on about 10 pounds since I started taking them (eating and exercise not changed).I also take melatonin but for sleep issues. My friends brings it back from states again as it’s hard to get in UK.
