Dhea-Which One?!

Hi, so I had my follow up appointment after all of my eggs failed to fertilise after icsi on Friday. Apparently I have poor quality eggs (flaccid to quote the doctor but not low egg reserve) and this is incredibly rare. Doctor doesn't believe DHEA has been proven to improve egg quality but she said it doesn't harm to try. There's so many different Dhea supplements, which is the right/best one and how many mg a day should I take? Sounds like this will be my last try before thinking about donor eggs.... I can't believe this is happening. Xxx

I just bought mine off health monthly I know people on here have bought it from Biovea.

If you don’t mind me asking, how did they determine that you have poor quality eggs?

When they tried to fertilise my eggs with ICSI, the eggs should give some resistance and then give a 'pop' like sensation to let the sperm in I think and basically mine weren't like that, they were flaccid. Good luck on your journey xxx

I see, I was told that mine were a bit hard but 5 out of 8 eggs fertilised. The thing is they collected my eggs a bit too early as the NHS clinic didn’t do EC over the weekend. Not sure if this had impact on quality but I changed clinics and will be taking mild steroid to increase quality. Good luck to you too xx

I got mine from Biovea. Make sure where ever you get it, it is micronized. I take 75mg a day but you should really ask your consultant. I also take 300mg a day of ubiquinol which is supposed to help with egg quality which you can get from h&b but it is quite expensive xx

How do you know if they're micronized?! I got impatient and bought this uk.iherb.com/pr/Life-Extens... is this okay?! They weren't expensive so can buy again if not x

I think it takes a little while for all to settle. I think my cycle was a little later for the first month but that's all I noticed. I've always ovulated late so didn't notice much difference. I'm usually anywhere between day 15 - 17 and my cycles are usually 24 days xx

I’m usually day 12 on 25 day cycle was 14 today hope it’s doing good and not completely messing me up 😳

I took micronised DHEA for my second round and went from just one good embryo on day 5 round one to 3 good embryos that could all be used on round 2 - only difference was DHEA

Hi there, I found the dhea did improve my egg quality but I was also on omega 3 and vitamin d etc. I bought my micronised dhea online from ipumpshop, usually arrives in about 10 days. Good luck x
