round 2....

Starting round 2, after a big fail on round 1, no embryos back in November. Just had my first scan on day 2 of my cycle. Got a cyst on one ovary, 11 follicles on my other. which is good for me VERY low amh. started letrozole today. Any good news stories on a cyst? the clinic wasn't worried, but I've never had one. does it mean no follicles will develop on that side ? thanks all x

I’m so sorry you had such a disappointing first round, and wish you luck for this next one.

I had a massive inactive cyst on my first round and I think it maybe slightly affected how many eggs I got but it’s hard to be sure. I got four on round 1, but all follicles were on on the none-cyst side; this round without a cyst I just got 6 eggs, but I was on a new protocol so who knows? Also, I never get anything like 11 follicles on one side; if most of those mature you could still get a great haul of eggs!

thank you so much for your reply. I think it will mean nothing develops on that side. but your right, if it goes ok on the other side its ok! how did you round go this time? are you freezing? no I haven't, usually round 6. But then last time it was the stimms that didn't work... its such a emotional roller coaster isn't it. x

Ah okay, well I hope the adjusted stims work better for you and all your follicles mature. Round one is always a bit of a shot in the dark. I hope you’re feeling a bit better this time with a new protocol?

My round is going okay…? I just had egg collection today, and while I’m happy to have got two more eggs than last time, I always feel the pressure of being a poor responder because I don’t have much to work with. Sooo nervous to find out if anything fertilised tomorrow! It is such a wild ride.

I completely feel your pain. it is great to have more, that's super positive. it just takes one!. I see posts about having tones of eggs and embryos and feel so jealous!

will keep everything crossed for you, take lots of care and rest. egg collections not easy either.

yes I think the high Stims was no good for me. this round Is much less invasive, so I feel they've listened and done what they can. just got to hope it works.

I didn’t have any cysts but during my ivf there was a more dominant ovary anyway. They concentrated on that ovary and to my knowledge only took the eggs from that one anyway.

thank you for sharing that, makes me feel alot better. I thought if one was out I would have less chance x
