We have two six cell embryos that are of good quality. Should we freeze day 3 or push to day 5. How are you meant to make these decisions 🤯

Day 3 or day 5
Definitely try and push to day 5 as you will know if they reach the crucial blastocyst stage x
Push to Day 5 if you can - that’s what my clinic said. Unless you’re really stressed and want to have the assurance you have something ‘banked’ - but I think it’s riskier thawing day 3 (but others can correct me if I’m wrong).
For my case I only do 3rd day transfers and 3rd day freezing (have a toddler and currently pregnant)My case is we always end up with high quality high number of eggs (12 eggs) and then only 3 or 4 would fertilize with icsi
If we end up with 3 they would put them all back in (3rd day)
If 4 they would put 2 and freeze 2
It’s surprising that the clinic don’t make that decision for you. They just took mine to day 5 no consideration of day 3. I know day 5 has better results for frozen embryo transfers.
I think you need to urgently to speak with your consultant. I went through this last week, except I only had one embryo!! My initial plan was freeze all, as I am planning 3 back to back cycles because of my age, low AMH etc. However, given that I only had one we decided to transfer fresh on day 3 instead. Is this an option for you? Everyone's circumstances are of course unique. Good luck to you xxx
