Day 3 transfer or day 5? Advice needed!

Hi ladies, so just a recap I had egg collection on Thursday and they retrieved 10 eggs.. only 4 were good and only 2 have fertilised.

My clinic want me to do a 3 day transfer tomorrow, however, Harley street prefer a 5 day transfer (Tuesday).

My gut instinct is to wait and just hope that day 5 will go ahead, but I’m scared of not doing it tomorrow and risk losing the two little eggs we have!

What are your thoughts?

I have fallen pregnant naturally three times (all ended in miscarriages) and I’m only 29, so my clinic are hopeful it will work!

It's a really tough decision Hun. I don't have any advice but would say go with whichever option would leave you with no ( or the least ) regrets. This journey is hard enough without additional what if's. Wishing you a successful outcome 😘 xx

What a tough position you’ve been put in my 2 clinics saying opposite things - I agree with summerrainbow and would go with whatever will leave you with the least regret. I know you’ll be disappointed in either decision and that’s understandable but if you wait until day 5 and they don’t make it will you always wish you tried on day 3, sorry I can’t be more help xx

My understanding is that the only benefit of a five day transfer is that they can select the best embryo to put back- you haven’t got a huge amount of choice, but given your age I expect they will only put one back so I guess that’s why the second clinic suggests waiting to five days? Are the Harley st clinic advising on your specific circumstances? At the end of the day I would probably go with the advice of embryologist who have actually seen your embryos x

On a different note if you’ve had three miscarriages have they run all the recurrent miscarriage tests on you? For me we discovered through karyotyping that my husband had a chromosome translocation causing my miscarriages.

Tough call babe. Your trust have sight of the eggs and development, and are making the best judgement call for you, but it’s so hard when there’s conflicting ideas on practice. Sometimes having no choice can feel easier than having no say in decisions isn’t it! Xxx

Are you having 1 or 2 transferred? Is one a better grade than the other? I had 2 fertilise as well, but one was a better grade than the other. The lower grade one might not have made it to freeze, so I had both transferred on day 2. My clinic said better in their natural environment as soon as poss x
