Ovulation monitoring with IUI.

I’m due to start IUI in May.. the clinic have asked if I want to pay for ovulation monitoring in the meantime? It’s £420.

I have been using ovulation strips and have regular periods. Is this enough or is it worth paying the money?

This money would be taken out of what I need to use for IUI so can’t decide if it’s worth doing?

Anyone done this and found it helped?

Perhaps ask them why? Not sure what they would use it for. Do you log your ovulation tracking so you can show them? I log my fertility week and peak days, length of period for my own use to try TTC naturally. They do not seem to be concerned about my ovulation or tracking because I have regular periods.

Thanks for reply.. Yeah I log my period on an app and it lets you take photos of ovulation strips and grades them. I’m regular too.

They said to make sure I am ovulating and to make sure the time I think I’m ovulating Is right? Just don’t know if it’s just a way to get more money.

I might send them screen shots of previous months and see if that’s enough to confirm right times.

If you are planning to do an FET on a natural cycle (not medicated), then I think it would help to be precise as much as possible. I had my FET on a medicated one to minimise room for error, as there is more control over your cycle. I would definitely share your log and ask them how would that impact the treatment plan for clarity. I am with you, I try to save money where I can!

My clinic just did a blood test the day I got a smiley face to confirm I was ovulating (included in the natural FET price) so if that’s part of your process for IUI I’m not sure the other tests will help much as it’s the timing of the ovulation Transfer month that’s most important. For our IUIs we got no tests for 3 of them and did medicated for another 3 which meant the clinic took over cycle anyway. Defo ask them a bit more about why you would need it as that’s a lot of money if not needed xx

Yes it’s worth it as they keep a good eye on everything. If they are stimulating the ovaries then I would say do it.

If they are only scanning not sure it’s worth it

Good luck 🤞🏻

If you’re not actually having treatment in those months then I’m not sure what the point is. They will monitor you when you do your iui anyway and will find out then whether you ovulate or not.
