Scan at 5w6d and no measurable heartbeat.

Today I went for a scan at 5w6d because I have bad pains, my bloods yesterday wher at 1200 so the doctor expected to be able to messure the baby. Today she said it was still too small and could not messure the heartbeat. I feel like we are losing this pregnancy. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Doctor sis say she could see the baby and it was fluttering and the sack and yoke looked good but to prepare for the worst. This was a day 5 fet so we're pretty sure of the dates ect.

Any advice or experiences would be good. Thanks

It’s super early to have a scan and see a heartbeat. Normally the heart starts beating somewhere in the sixth week so that’s normally why clinics wait until 7 weeks to do a viability scan.

I completely understand why you feel anxious but try not to worry. Focus on the fact your doctor said what they saw looked good xx

Didn’t see the heartbeat until 7 weeks and HCG well over 20000….. strange they expected to see it so early! Hope you have more positive experience at your next scan xx

A bit early to see the heartbeat and at 5+6 the baby is so tiny, it is difficult to see and measure. Good luck for the next scan

Hi! I feel you! I went for an early scan at 5w3days and it was too early. Only saw the gestational sac and a dot. No yolk sac! I panicked. The doctor said it was to early and to come back in 10 days. And finally at 6w6days I saw the yolk sac and the heartbeat. I think I is too early on 5 week. Thinking of you.

Thank you, we did see a small Flutter and a nice big yoke sack but the doctor just seemed so negitive! Xx
