I’m 5dpt and have been having insomnia. The worst one was last night when our senior dog was really sick. I didn’t sleep all night and can’t sleep now.
I’m worried the stress will make my FET fail. Try to calm myself by drinking some calming tea, but hasn’t helped.

Hi, I wouldn’t say so. Pregnancy related insomnia is quite common. I keep having to remind myself that our bodies are very clever and babies are very resilient. I struggle to sleep at night too. If you can try and take time to relax during the day or even schedule in a 20 minute nap. When I’m working I lay down on my lunch break. We are currently 7 weeks pregnant and my sleep was impacted since transfer. Just listen to your body when you can. Good luck!
I'm sorry about your dog - that must be very worrying - we recently lost one of our elderly cats to a sudden illness and it involved a lot or vets visits, care and sleepless nights trying to comfort them. I hope your dog recovers. But whether it can affect the FET, I don't think so. I was so stressed before and after transfer with work and renovating a house - I was on work calls and emails basically as I went for the FET and straight after, back into meetings into early hours. Plus my relatives helpfully decided to visit and I was cooking and cleaning. Once I got my BFP things didn't really let up and I got little decent sleep or rest. I've had two prior BFP than ended before 6 weeks - one where I took time off and relaxed and was quite strict with diet etc, the other where I didn't really change anything, and they went the same way, so I think it's mainly down to the meds and other factors out of your control (and worrying about worrying made no difference - I definitely tested that one!) )
I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. I was so incredibly stressed during my last cycle and just before my transfer I nearly lost my job and had to have horrible meetings with the head teacher. I couldn't sleep at all for days. Before the transfer I asked the clinic and they reassured me that it would not influence the treatment at all. They were right and everything was successful 🤞I never managed to calm down and I've been worried/stressed every day of this pregnancy. It's not ideal but it has had no impact whatsoever. Take care and good luckx
Thank you for your response and I’m so sorry to hear abt your struggles, but I want to congratulate you on your pregnancy. Hopefully I can get a BFP too.
I’m sorry to hear about your fur baby! That’s always really upsetting! But in terms of stress etc I was convinced that my stress in my first two failed FETs were to blame but my third was just as stressful. On the day of the transfer I came down with a scratchy throat, by the next day I’d lost my voice and couldn’t swallow it was so painful. I wasn’t able to sleep properly for days and I just got more and more poorly. I then developed an allergy which landed me in a&e (as a precaution). I was sure there was no way my body or the embryos would survive and was stressing about it all the time too. I got my first BFP yesterday! I was shocked. I was so sure it hadn’t worked. Honestly, your body will do what it needs to and embryos are strong. Mostly the causes for failure are nothing to do with you or what’s happening around you. Its just damn luck as far as I can tell! wishing you all the sticky luck with your cycle.
