Hi everyone, just looking some reassurance I suppose.
My first failed cycle ended mid October. Day 11 post transfer I started spotting and discharging some brown blood and that continued every day for about 3 weeks. I didn't get a proper period at all. It caused me a lot of stress as it felt like it was prolonging the agony and a constant reminder of the failed cycle.
Then after the 3 or so weeks, an actual period showed up - my opinion is that it was technically my 2nd period after the first '11 dpt-weird one' as the second one came when it was supposed to according to my app.
I was expecting my 3rd period on the 2nd December but it sort of arrived on Saturday, 6 days early. I spotted for 2 days (making me wonder if it was implantation the rascal) and then it arrived full pelt today.
I also tracked my ovulation this month from day 10 after the 1st day of my period (the second one that came on time), and while the test detected high estrogen from day 11, it didn't detect an LH surge at all after 9 days of testing. So either I didn't ovulate or I ovulated realllllyyyyyy early. Same thing happened last month but it was in the weeks following my ivf so I didn't panic too much given the random hormones zipping about my body.
I'm just a little worried my cycle is never gonna be the same after my long protocol. I can't pinpoint ovulation dates and haven't a clue when my next period is due! Panicking I'm not ovulating anymore!
I am normally pretty regular, give or take a day here or there. I've been a little late a few times.
Any thoughts? x

I wouldn't be surprised if it affected your cycle for a while: it's a lot of extra hormones in the body. I had a freeze all earlier in November and my period afterwards was a) a week early and b) the period from hell. I still feel like a zombie too, but I'm hoping it's just a result of all the hormones...
Thanks lovely! I think I was in such shock and anxiety after my failed round that I was running on empty and was so so shattered too. It isn't easy is it x
Hi Joey, Its so stressful and really sorry your going through this.
I'm 43 years and have only managed to get one cycle of IUI in since end of August. It really is heart breaking knowing my time is running out. The first cycle didn't work, the next month I couldn't get an appointment with the consultant in time, October my cycle got cancelled due to poor response but turned out in November I was still growing a follicle but very slowly. Now I have just been told i have cyst so another cancelled, and my next cycle is due over Christmas when the clinic is closed. So half the year gone and next year im 44 years. It really is the hardest thing to keep my sanity
My clinic told me im too old for IVF and should just do IUI, but I'm now trying to get a second opinion as there are many ladies on here who are receiving IVF in over 40 years.
It can take your body a good couple of months to get back to normal after all the extra hormones not to mention the stress of the treatment cycle Take care of yourselfJanet
